If sunflowers are grown in the Spring/Summer, as a cover crop, what would you plant in that location after terminating the crop? Would the sunflowers be given the entirety of the Autumn/Winter to die and decompose before planting simmering in that area the following Spring?

Hi Paul, thank you for this video. Paul, I've just succeeded in getting on top of 2 acres used as pasture for 3 horses by previous owner. Beautiful rich earth... but, we pulled out thousands of nylon plus bail string. I cut parsnip 8 feet tall, including other weeds. I plowed with misery, bought an old grubber to grab string buried, etc. Savior neighbor (85) came to my rescue with 3 ton disc and leveled, broke down grubber chuncks, etc. My dilemma is to avoid weed, especially parsnip 8 feet tall, golden rod & whatever your imagination can think of lol. Since my discs are old type small, I'm thinking of Buckwheat. Let it grow 6" to 8" & plow it in. Planting some garlic come this fall. Also have a MF 2 ear plow & a pto rototiller. Just afraid with rototiller & leftover bail string. We took out 14 pallets 4x4 at 4 feet high of string thus far in where we figure feeding was done. On cover crop, could you suggest me please :) cheers :) Maurice

I would love to grow sunflowers. Unfortunately our deer population loves young sunflower shoots and will completely eradicate the crop as it emerges.

Once sunflowers remove heavy metals from the soil can the stalks, leaves and flowers be composted without adding the metals back into the soil?

I was too scared my since sun baby can eat and weakens too now I deal almost no roots I hope you have or a solution for this my baby is turning yellow but taller that before

What about getting a Cutting of Red Clover Hay/Haylage Off before the End of that Year after the Wheat Harvest? Would that be possible for the Frost Seeded Red Clover? Would there be Enough Growth before the Years End? Another question I have is, would you get a Better/Thicker & Earlier Stand if it was Under Seeded with The Winter Wheat at The Same Time that the Winter Wheat was Planted. If you used the Legume/Small Seed Box for the Red Clover & Planted it in The Drill with The Winter Wheat as a Companion Crop just like you would say Oats Under Seeded with Alfalfa?
