Hi.. I`m a righthanded guy who has been playing upside down since I was 10. No one in the family knew what was up and down on a guitar. It just felt natural to me to do it that way. Until recently, I thought that I was a member of a very small group of people doing this, but apparently it`s much more common than I ever thought. And that a nice feeling:-)

We should never forget Alec Finn on bouzouki, the one that put the instrument on the map of Irish music, no one will find a better one anywhere..

@Pierre LAÏLY This gives a bit more detail. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Irish_bouzouki Johnny Moynihan popularised use of the bouzouki in Ireland but he introduced the 8 string instrument; Alec Finn was the first to use the traditional six string instrument.

This is exquisite, with a fabulous choice of tunes to boot. Too bad there isn't much of Linnane's playing around save on that classic album with Noel Hill. Does anyone know when this was recorded or what the circumstances were?

I just learned the basic chords and started singing and playing away, mostly by ears. I was listening to a lot of music as well and tried to copy what I heard. But that was long before the Internet was invented and now it ist much easier to get access to things.
