I think the thing that some people fail to realize about Richie's dad is that hes a cop. He sees the worst of humanity on a daily basis. On top of that, the racial makeup of his area is probably mostly black so almost all the criminals he sees personally are black youths. As such, he will absolutely have a skewed view if black youth. The thing i realize about him is that while hes impatient with Virgil's dad, he doesn't treat him like he did Virgil. His jab was about him trusting his son not him personally. I dont know if he has anything against black people in particular or just the young black people he probably deals with more often. He even tries to be friendly when they enter, seeking a moment of 'oh, those ungrateful kids. You know what i mean?'. He is a racist but i wonder if its most against just the youth.
