I haven't too many issues with joint quality. I found keeping the speed between 60-80 ipm help me, and if the joints aren't the tightest i would go to the table saw and clean it up if needed!

Thank you! Yeah I typically find centre and measure towards the corners. I do 1 inch spacing for the fronts and backs and 3/8" for the side L- Nails. Hope this helps!

Yeah it just makes it more of an aggressive sander. It oscillates up and down but also spins the belt 👍🏽

It oscillates to help sand down pieces faster!

@@xdMrFish I don’t think it makes it last longer, probably same as the standard. In my opinion a rubber sanding block will help with the longevity of a belt sander!

Hey there! Thanks for watching the video! That attachment is Arbortech Ball Gouge: amzn.to/49D1kkd . I haven't fully used it to its full capabilities but it is a very nice tool if you wanted to carve deep into wood like bowls, deep curves etc. It does have a learning curve since it spins in only one direction so it sometimes chatters a certain way. I can dive deeper into it and make a video specifically on the little nuances the ball gouge has if that would help you! As for fear, I too have a bit of fear using an angle grinder, but i respect the tool in my hand, always have two hands on the grips, safety gear, and if I feel ANY type of resistance when carving i pull the tool away from the wood. I would say get comfortable with a regular sanding type disc then venture into a ball gouge when you feel ready. Hope this helps!
