@Buttish1979 Very true not much here in texas, Frio River is fun! when its full, but that has not been since 2007, :-( ! I read Cherokee Creek is a good run like class3+. But is got to RAIN!!!

The falls were so much better before they re did it. I use to be able to go under it and find so much shit just under it. there was a big air bubble under it also. SO fun!

I flipped onto my side once and scraped my arm up a bit. We pretty much only use the Big Yak to go down that thing, as the bottom is wide and flat. Makes it so you can pretty much phone it in.

Anybody ever get off-center and bail? Would be nasty scraping down 100 year old concrete!

Hey, thanks for the rating. it is kind of odd no one had given it one yet. And, yeah, I imagine whitewater is mighty scarce in Mississippi. It's hard enough to find any around here: you just have to pray to the rain gods and hope some of it ends up in a drainage with some gradient (and my idea of gradient is surely meager compared to that of folks who live in OR, WA, CA, CO, WV, NM, ID, etc...) Finally, I must be the only kayaker in the world that enjoys hardcore metal with my kayaking videos.

Oh, I think it was about 500 cfs, which is a pretty good level to avoid the vast array of granite outcroppings. I have run that falls at about 200 cfs as well. I would be surprised if that washes out at 700, since it looked so nice at 500. You were on the stretch from Castell to CR 103?

Nice video. Do you happen to know what Mason gauge reading was when you ran Hoffman Falls? I paddled through there in Sept. 2007 at 700cfs and never even noticed the falls and I was looking for 'em. Surely they don't wash out at 700cfs.

I have, since this episode, acquired a whitewater helmet, which I would certainly wear upon attempting this again. That creek hasn't gone up at all again this year, so we've been S.O.L. And yeah, that's probably 7-8 ft. vertical, which is pretty big for Texas. I saw all the Cossatot stuff on your profile; you live around there?

I thought Bee House came in further down, closer to Pidcoke. I could be wrong, as I did pass a couple of pretty good size feeder creeks coming in from the south/east. There are a couple of shots of the canyons merging together from downstream of the creek junctions.

Yeah, that was shot from the CR434 (Slab) crossing down to US 84. That is the 84 bridge right at the end of the video.

Thigh straps make it much easier to do whitewater in a S.O.T. Plus, they kinda look like bondage gear...

Hey, you gotta make do with what you've got. Us poor Texans just don't have much in the way of mountains, snowmelt, or rivers with gradients above 15-20 ft/mi. Does the Clack still have enough water in it in the middle of the summer?

Sorry for the tone of my first reply; I simply object to my brother and I being classified as 'tools' just because we're stupid enought to jump off a 16 foot ledge in a sit on top kayak.
