I feed them from a chiclid mix and occasionally live bloodworm and live brine shrimp also I culture my own baby brine shrimp. Can you tell me how long it takes for the female too mature my male is huge but she still looks a juvenile. Thank in advance .

Excel similar to ADI co2 booster does the same thing to plants.. reason being that the chemical in it kills alge.. or single cells similar to what's in val, java moss and java fern.. keep to the low dose and they'll get use to it and come back.

How do you catch all those little fry when you're ready to move them? Must be hard unless you remove all your plants and rocks?

My pair is doing the spawning dance and the female is always inside the cave until there is food or until the Male comes close by then she turns on her side and looks at him and wiggles around and the male does it too then she goes back inside. They are macmasteri Kh 1-2 Gh 8-10 Ph 7.6-7.8 78.6°F Multiple caves a few small plants a super fine gravel practically sand. And its blackwater too

Here is a recommendation if you have caves and they won't breed. One they will pick the smallest and darkest cave. Two switch caves around once and a while if they're not going for it. Three check water and light parameters. If it's too light it can disturb them and they won't like it. My fish didnt breed until it was much darker in the tank

Excel is a algaecide it gets rid of algea you're tanking about seachem flourish it's just called flourish. It's in the same exact bottle so it's easy to get confused.

My orange flash female just brought her fry out for the "fry parade". I already have removed the Male. I am wanting to remove the female also...to ensure the fry survival rate. No other fish are in that tank. So its would just be the babies. The mother is super super protective of the fry. Past batches she did good...then at one point she wanted to spawn again...and she ate the babies at that point. I am wanting to remove her before she gets to that point...but it's hard to catch her without stressing her out at the same time...and again...eat her babies...

My pair just bred two weeks ago. it was all fine until this morning, the male became too aggressive to female. I had to remove the male. with male and female, which one cares for the fry better? do they care for the fry until they all grow up?

Just getting into Apistos after being a cichlid guy for a while. This is the best channel I have found on apistos. The information is invaluable and delivered succinctly. I have liked and subbed. The only minor piece of advice I could offer is that the intro music is a lot louder than the rest of the video and I frequently turn the sound lower at the beginning and then turn it up. Great channel.

Have actually seen good breeding in tanks much smaller than 10 gallon tanks even. Small 2.5 gallon tanks will work well with plant cover

Hi, I have had my apistos spawn and the fry are about 2 weeks old. I have been feeding them Ocean Nutrition baby brine shrimp and they appear to be doing well. Hello!! I dont suggest to put your fertilizers in right after the water change. Because the aqua chlorine (like Prime) have stuff in it that takes away all heavy metal products. And almost all fertilizers have heavy metal in it. But anyway, thanks for this great video!!
