excellent tutorial! I've been sewing patches for years and great to see great instruction!
The only question i had is what about the seam allowance?
Thanks for the video. Please share a video demonstrating how to insert a lining 😊
Thank you for the informative lesso s on this.💙

Awesome - your method was so easy and seamless. Thanks a million...
Thanks a lot
Thank you
Thanks! So Glad I found this! Starting again after a million years of not sewing. From scratch, to reducate, this was very helpful~🥰
This is a very understandable video. I'm Chelly Wood, the doll clothing pattern designer, and I run a website where I teach people how to sew doll clothes. Would you mind if I embedded this video on my site? If you want to see the article, it will be published on August 23rd. Please let me know if you would like to be given special credit. Your CZcams channel will be given a mention, of course, but if you want me to link to something else, let me know.
When you put your button in the back of the foot it essentially tells the machine what size to make the hole. All you have to do is figure out where you want the buttonhole to be placed.
There is a little more to it than that, especially pulling down the bar that resets the foot, a step many people miss. Thank you for watching the video and commenting.
Your hand completely blocked the view when you attached the foot.
How it goes on depends on the machine, some push on and some snap on. I do have a separate video on how to change the foot on a sewing machine if that's something you need help with. Thanks for watching and commenting. :)
Mam can you tell us how to remove mark of embroidery when it is removed after shaved from razor
It depends on the fabric. I usually wipe the area with a damp cloth and let it dry to see if that helps. As I mention in the video it can take several washes for the marks to go away and sometimes they don't go away. It often depends on how long the embroidery design was on the fabric and the type of fabric.
I don't know if it's just my computer. But I couldn't get either of the links to load in your description. The ones about your beginner playlist and your beginner sewing course I think it was called
The nice cole close
Follow up: after watching your video, I had to sew three emblems on three shirts- so that was nine emblems. Your instructions helped a lot, especially with the tips on placement. Also, using matching thread and sewing directly on the colored border was perfect, instead of going inside the border. Thank you again.
Hi I have a safari type vest with an embroidery on it and to me it doesn’t look good. Do you think the holes will disappear?
If any small holes are left behind, they usually shrink away after several washes.
EXCELLENT video. You covered everything! Never thought to fold patch for the center marks; nor did I know about using double sided interfacing to secure the patch before sewing. Thank you for sharing!
Thanks for watching and taking the time to comment!
Very good instruction on all parts
Do we need to leave a little bit more fabric than the pattern on each side for seam allowance?
No, commercial patterns include the seam allowance.
Does this mean that I have to repurchase my pattern if I want to make it for someone else a who is a larger size and I‘ve already cut out the smaller size?
Where did it get?
Amazon has a beading foot for most machines. amzn.to/3RZWdDH
Thank you for being straight to the task at hand. I hate when people give their whole life story on tutorial videos.
I bought a bias tape maker and thought I'd never use. Wrong--it's easy and handy, and my bias tape always matches what I'm making.
What should the width setting be for the zigzag stitch to accomplish this task? I’m a beginner and I want to add some trim to a lovely pair of flannel pajamas. I want to add the trim to the sleeves, and I would rather not sew through the center of the embroidery of the trim piece. And this is a great way to avoid that.
It doesn't have to be very wide. I always test the width first to make sure the stitches are going to land where I want them.
Genius
Why u didn't keep seam allowance ?
The seam allowance is built into the pattern when you cut it out on the size you need.
How to you keep it from sewing through the sleeve?
I slid it over the free-ar, of the sewing machine. The bottom portion of the sleeve was maneuvered out of the way.
Yes thank you for explanation, how can I get the cuts pattern? I really need it, can I pay for it?
This is a Simplicity Pattern you can buy in a fabric store or online.
After the final backstitch, is there any need to knot the threads? If not, what holds those final stitches in place?
No, there is no need to tie a knot after backstitching. The backstitch is what holds the final stitch in place.
How do I secure the beginning and end? lock the stitch? Thanks
Because the stitch goes back and forth, you don't really have to.
Do I hear a steam coming out of the iron? Everywhere I look for suggestions it says to use a dry iron.
Get some cool patches and stitch it on top of it
What is the thing that holds the foot called???? Missing mine and trying to order one but literally cannot find it
The shank
If your pattern has numbers on it, mine doesn’t have numbers on it. I’m trying to figure out what line is supposed to cut on the book that I got says the size and then it says I’m number eight small because I’m like a 12 anyway but it doesn’t say anywhere in the book what line to cut on so I thought I guess I would count the lines to number eight?
Not easy to follow.
you didn't say you had to sign up for a class to get the ;print outs. I spent all kinds of time trying to get them.
Best ever! Thank you so much!
Because of this video, I can pin my pattern on! Thank you for helping me get unstuck ❤
Thank you so much I'm glad I found your video it helps a lot. I'm about to cut my fabric and I don't even understand the instructions I had no idea how to cut it so thank you so much. This is my first time to try how to make a skirt.
Some video it as be a long time for me on sowing Nanette
I like this it will help me
Thank you I can’t find the waistband tutorial could you link it for me please.
This is the best break down video, thank you so much
This may sound dumb, but what if you kept the material print up, but flipped the pattern piece upside down?? 😅🤦♀️
It isn't because of the pattern or dimensions, it's to make sure your marking lines aren't seen from the outside
@@lucasfluffy9809 that's fair. I think what I was asking is if it would work to make sure the piece would be correct.
I @@lucasfluffy9809
I cant get the buttonhole foot off!
Only Jesus Christ can save you from hell.
Note to everybody, you do not need an extra piece of fabric or whatever in between the patch and the iron, I’ve been putting patches on things since the early 2000s and I’ve never done that
I appreciate learning from you all.💙🙏
