Well. Depends how you look at it. Weather here sucks. Been here 40+ years. If you like to to sweat for 7 months out of the year... move to DFW. People always mention the economy. Dallas has been thriving for a while. But it's starting too see saturation. As well as being crowded. Try going to the grocery store during the weekend, esp costco or any big box. I guess if you like crowds of moronic people aimlessly driving their cart into you...if that's your thing, move to Dallas. Dallas used to be a relatively inexpensive place to live, nope, that's gone too. Too many people have moved here. Evetually those things that have long made Dallas "great" will start to eveporate. Btw, by saturation, I mean competition. For example, look up roofing companies, you could spend 3 months combing through companies. If you're thinking of moving to North Dallas, suburbs, get ready for a long commute. Unless you're the type to stay in your "bubble", traffic in the suburbs is actually worse than Dallas proper. (Trust me. I uber on the weekends). Gone are the days of finding discounted homes further north of the city, state to state migration has killed that. So, basically you'll be commuting 2 hours for no reason. If you think you're gonna be getting "rural' living, think again. Those areas are in a constant state or flux, so eventually you'll just have an overpriced cheaply made (zero lot line) home...that's a mere 45 min drive to fun. Lol Listen. Every major city is complicated, no hiding that. But! When people say "great economy, hot, good sports". It's a little underfed in my opinion. I think the infrastructure is pretty good in Dallas, mid down, up to Plano. Beyond that, the roads need major improvements.

I just notice this in comparison with most cities in the USA: ( US News ranking put test score as an important factor ) You can see that most US news best high schools located cities with one or two top high schools, then the rest high schools in those cities are not good or poor. You can see Frisco's 12 high schools US News ranking. They are either ranked excellent or good. If you trace the ranking history of new high schools's US news ranking, you will find that the ranking keep improving every year. Those new high schools only rank as good high schools range today will become excellent soon!
