Niagara Cloud 90 Day Free Trial Announcement - Niagara Recover & Niagara Remote
In all seriousness, why would anyone still be using web browsers like edge or Chrome when we could be using web start or web launcher?
Web Launcher is a stop-gap because browsers no longer support the Java applet. It will be deprecated at some point in the future. Relying on it as your primary form of access into an up-to-date station is not something I, or Tridium, would recommend. From Tridium documentation: "It is also worth noting Niagara Web Launcher was made to be a stop-gap between applet dependent web profiles and HTML5 ux views. It will be discontinued eventually and stations should be modified to use the HTML5 Views and web profiles." -MW
Great video. It might be worth doing a video on Provisioning, plenty content there :D
Great suggestion, added to my list. -MW
Good video, I like to use bformat with my alarms. I can get the end user the information that is helpful to understand the alarm better. Once you start using bformat it really gets easier and you’ll discover so many ways to make the Niagara experience better for your customers and makes your company stand out a little more.
Hey Matt, I'm new to the Niagara environment. I really like the way you walk us through different topics and give us use cases! Being new I have a few questions that I'd love to reach out and ask you. Is there a way to do that?
Glad to hear that! You can shoot me an email at mwitmer@broudyprecision.com -MW
I almost exclusively do graphics. I encourage anyone watching this to get familiar with bFormat. You can do a lot of cool things. For instance, when I get an old station backup and I'm tasked with redoing the front end I like to build a report page of all of the different devices and use %(Name of pxView slot).pxFile% to easily reference what px view each devices is using. Helps me see how many different views need to be recreated. Thanks for the video!
Thanks for all the effort and this seems like a great video that I would be very interested in watching but unfortunately the only resolution thats available is 360p which means I can't see any of the text
CZcams's processing is running slower than usual today. It'll be in 4K shortly... hopefully. -MW
謝謝!
Hello bro. Can i print every event . Example. Status AHU on and the print to print event on like a alarm print every trip is alarm
thanks!
3-4 weeks? So the conversion is manual?
What would be the pricing looks like for the Niagara remote?
Can it work with Optimizer Advanced? Where can I check the price? Is there something like an app for a mobile phone? Thanks ind advance
Hey! May I ask a question about JACE9000? I got a JACE9000 from the partner campany, is there any way I can factory reset the device without username and password?
While applying power, press and hold the 'SHUT DOWN' button for 5 seconds. -MW
How many controllers on an IP network?
When in a daisy chain, Honeywell recommends 100 max and when doing an RSTP ring, they recommend 40 max. Otherwise, there is no limit to the number of devices you can have on an IP network. You would just may need to increase the size of your subnet. -MW
Thanks, for sharing a great content. 😀
Does Honeywell make a BACnet thermostat similar to this one that has 2 heat/2 Cool for both conventional and air source heat pumps?
The TC500 would get that job done. -FW
Thanks Matt
Thanks, Matt. Great video! You had me up and running with an include really fast!
The only resource I found online that actually gives me the correct flow for iOS 17.4.1 Thanks so much!
What a great idea. We want more! Matt is always way ahead of the standard BMS stuff in this industry. Can’t wait for the next video!
Can we edit the graphics? Are the graphics copyrighted?
To then make use of the response information that is returned from an API, is that primarily going to be using the JSON modules?
That's correct. Your request to the API and the response from the API are typically going to be in JSON, so you'd use the JSON toolkit in Niagara to manipulate them both. -MW
For the love of BAS... ask for floating tabs
I have a question. If I used the panel bus for i/o modules but without the accesory (only contact), how I can configurate the port if I use 2 ports rs-485 for another devices (for example modbus rtu and bacnet ms/tp) and I choose the advance controller with 2 ports rs-485? I will need to choose the advance controller of 3 ports?
If you are using the touch flakes for your panel bus, you cannot use that port for anything else. So you would need the 3 port model, if your normal 2 rs485 ports are also already in use. -MW
Great video. I wanna touch on one thing you could change though. You touched on it for a second. If someone makes the change on one login, it chages it for all users. You can counteract this by using a Global Command to "Set" the point back to true once someone logs off. For us, we use a logoff button on a sidebar, and have it linked to a Global Command from the "VykonProUtil" module. Once they click the logoff button, you can have invoke the action of the global command by having it hit a OneShot. And if all else fails, just have a trigger hit at midnight or some other random time where nobody would be logged in. Other than that, it's great information for people trying to add that little extra that others don't.
Great information Frank! Love this content from you and Matt! Keep it up!
Can you create a caf file in CCT and import it in niagara then reassign the links to points that are currently being read from an N2 controller? Wondering if this would be a cheat for creating graphics on older systems.
Don't see why that wouldn't work. Just keep in mind that you have to do that import on a new controller in Niagara, you can't run an import on a controller that already has points in the points container. -FW
😂
Hexi Decimal That is old school
Awesome Video Matt!
Congratulation for your initiative. well done. greetings from Honeywell Europe. Optimizer suite is very good.
Thank you
Hey, can the optimizer advance do CBus straight out of the rs-485?
The Optimizer Advanced has the driver licensed but the onboard 485 couldn't be used for CBUS. That would require the CLIF-CBUSLC interface to be used with the Advanced (same as with the 8000 & CIPer 50). -FW
@broudyprecision Thanks, the CPO version of the same controller can (according to their datasheet). Thank you though.
The idea of making niagara more "modern" and then the only check box they have is that terrible little basic one. I wish they would invest some time in revamping the graphics packages and less time releasing new "features" on untested versions
While I agree with the sentiment that a more modern looking web interface and px pages would be nice, I think Tridium’s approach of ensuring feature parity in views, etc between the web interface and Workbench is the more important work to be done now. For the modern interface now, Reflow is a good option though it does come with a little additional cost. -MW
Thank you sir this is very helpful information for me I am from India and am learning and bignner❤️
CORRECTION: All JACE 9000's have default username/password of admin/admin, as confirmed by Tridium, and not the individual credentials shown. This was a change made after the beta program.
The problem using Px include is , you wont be able to see the points in bound ords sidebar. is there any option to use px include and see the ords in one single window ? it would be helpful for the quality check.
What did you use to create that floor plan?
I just want to know, if it is possible to connect the C/Bus modules like XL800 to unitary controllers? and what does it mean that unitary controllers are not full stack Niagara? what kind of limitation will impose by not being full stack Niagara Appreciate it in advance.
hey, I see that the CPO version of this controller can do CBUS straight from the RS-485 without a gateway as per the datasheet. can this version also do CBUS?
Well, installing a CA certificate seems pretty easy however could you tell me how do I get one? From internet, i don’t want to make my own
Hello, is this black line with end dot a single element? Or a line and a circle? (2 elements)
Easyio controllers are let down by their small memory size limit.
This video helped me fix an issue we were having with the Entrust G3 Root Cert which is SHA-1. Thanks
Thanks for the demo man

Thank you
Like the example of T1L for legacy Lon installs yet they specify 18AWG wire. FT10 cable is almost never 18AWG. MS/TP same. Agree if this works well, its a game changer. FFS though. Why the hell call out 18awg wire vs listing the specs on FT10 or typical low-cap 485 rated cable. Got a few ordered and I also note that HW doesn't have any stock of their TL1 to standard 10/100Mb ethernet so you need to find a 3rd party solution to even talk to the things.
We have tested T1L using up to 1200ft combined of standard 22AWG FT10 cable and 24AWG shielded (a very worst case scenario) using the T1L adapter getting an Opimizer talking to a JACE and we haven't seen any communication issues. T1L appears to be very flexible on wire type.
I have absolutely no reason to dis- believe this video, but there is absolutely nothing mentioned on the Niagara Community site, even searching "end of life" just results in hits from back in 2020. Why is there so much secrecy around this? Is there another site that has up to date information about the Tridium products? or are we to simply be told that we should refer to our support channel? Sorry, rant over. Thankyou for posting this.
I'm not sure who the recipient list was (we receieved it and had some contractors reach out that receieved it as well), but Tridium announced all of this in an email a little over a week ago. -MW
