So, your DVO fork and DVO customer service was a disaster not the bike.
Bike Rips 👍
I am just wondering how tall you are? I am wondering what size I should buy. Thanks!
5'6 on a medium👍
@@Dankis_Kankis Hoping I can pick your brain a little bit! I am very close to pulling the trigger on a large, I am 5'10. Do you find the medium to be a good fit?
@@GoodTrails Im right between medium and small, but sized up because I have a longer torso. Im definetly right on the limit for riding a medium.
@@Dankis_Kankis good to know! Thank you!
A whole two minutes? Suck it up.
Whos jerry? Old man thats mad at kids?
Now that you've got the stanchion issue sorted, how do you like the Diamond? Would you recommend it? Is it a two-chamber air spring with transfer blister, or does it have an OTT spring adjustment? Does it move well?
The fork is nothing special. A bit heavy but good stiffness. For adjustability It just has a wide range of rebound and compression.
Get a ridged whisky front end. problem solved lol
About all the hardwares that they didn't send out, all companies ask customers to NOT ship their forks with any parts/hardwares on it. That includes fenders, axles, brake clips, anything that is not the fork itself. but i understand that this issue was probably very frustrating in your case...
Im having the same issues with my fork on a RSD RS-291... a weird klunking feelings and sound from the right stanchion and the exact same scratches on them like yours. Was it worth going the warranty route or just say eff it an buy a new fork.
Probably worth the warranty (esspecially if you're installing yourself), my new fork is a thicker E-Bike fork that they sent, and haven't had issues yet. 🤞
Wwuhoho!😂
I don’t understand here
Cool video! It may be the ProFlex's geometry that makes it difficult to retrofit with a modern fork -- I'm not entirely sure. I did put a modern fork on my vintage bike, before noticing it slackened the effective head tube angle considerably; however, moving a couple of headset spacers above the stem made a surprisingly substantial improvement to the bike's climbing ability. Whereas the bike used to wander during climbs, with the front end also lifting up, it now ascends hills very confidently.
CZcams must have read my mind and picked this video especially for me lol. I've been checking the tracking numbers for my new Rockshox fork and build parts for the 756 frame I'm building up. Can't wait to put it all together after seeing how yours is working out. I'm doing what you did pretty much. I found a good sale on Rockshox air fork so going with the air. Need it at my weight. I'm gunna throw a 27.5 up front. Wish me luck. Going disk up front too. Thanks for the inspiration and 🤙
I would recomend that you also get a 60-70mm stem and maybe riser bars. makes it ride alot better.
How did you make out with the DVO fork issue?
Im going to make a video in the future. In short, the problem happened again.
Ayy, check out my proflex on my channel. rode it hard.
I've restored and converted an old mtb to an ebike and even fully restored the Jett T2 is... dated, to put it nicely. Contemplating buying the 30 Silver TK to replace it. Is the difference as drastic as it looks on video?
nice!!! I have ordered this fork and waiting for it to arrive.
Nice, it's well worth it.
Did you like it?
32lbs for an aluminum HT?
Yeah, the frame is over built and the fork and rims don't help at all.
😳 yikes
@@michaelchappell3691u should get cross country ht if u want light . This bike is not for pu….ssy weight weenies 😂😂😂
Recently got the same bike. First ride had a knocking noise on compression. Sent it to DVO for warranty and they rebuilt it. They mentioned this fork had a bad damper in some. Come to find out it was the Shimano saint finned pads clanging on each other. Ill have to keep an eye out for markings though. Maybe there was not enough lubrication in the fork and caused the scratches. I wipe down my forks after every ride and use fork lube to get any debri out. I have been very happy with my other bike which has a diamond d1
It looks like it’s leaking. Alex at RSD is great. He will make it right. Do is in so cal. I believe. Still that middlechild is specked way better than the Santa Cruz chameleon at that price point. It wound cost me about $2300+ to buy that level of parts for a build.
I mead Dvo is in so cal.
These are only o.e.m forks. Mine dont have any scratches but make a little pop ( ive been told ita a air release valve that the faces are too smooth....there is a fix for my little sound) but i will keep an eye on wear. Finding any info. On these forks is a nightmare. D.v.o. website doesnt even have any info. Been trying to find rebuild kit but.......
Send it to DVO and theyll fix it free. Took a week to ship (free) from east coast and then they shipped it back 2 day priority.
A redditer said the dvo forks have had issues. Some type of knocking noise. May look into getting it warrantied.
Got a 27.5 middlechild in Dec. I had the same impression of the bike, it’s parts. And how it rides “wow”. I’m learning I need a faster rolling tire for the rear, we will see if that keeps it rolling better. But those 2.8 plus dhr ll tires are plush and never wash out. Enjoy your bike. I learn a lot over on Hardtail party. Thanks for the review, it helps people
I just dropped guide t on front and higher rise bars. Most fun and best beike i have ever owned. 27.5 Super fun at 420 chainstay.lol. jokes aside. super fun ride.
nice bike, what trails?
Southpark, Pittsburgh PA
@@Dankis_Kankis I have a steel RSD middlechild 29, and ride North Park. Would love to hookup for a ride one day.
Would this be easy to take on and off?
The seat clamp is easy, but the two posts have to be unscrewed almost all the way so you'll have to keep track of some hardwear. Other than that, its very simple.
So. How does it ride?
Im going to make a video on it, but it rides very naturally, despite the raised bb, esspecialy at higher speeds, but in the tech, the bars don't have enough rise, and it wanders.
