I remember the hype around Skyrim, though I didn’t not understand the significance of it at the time nor did I realize it after it’s release. I loved the fallout games and wasn’t big into fantasy settings. I missed out on the hype, the community connection, and actively avoided it when I started to get annoyed with all the arrow to the knee jokes. I wish I could have experienced it with everyone back then. I have put a kit 800 hours into it now with the anniversary edition, I genuinely love it, it’s re-ignited a passion for adventure and storytelling I haven’t felt in a long time

I miss the days when the only micro transactions that existed were $5-30 dollar DLC that didn’t add content that was supposed to originally be in the base game but add to it.

I agree with you on the main story between the three newer elder scrolls games. The impact of beating Morrowind and stopping the ash storms is massive. You'd think beating Skyrim's main story would stop the dragons. Or at least you'd be given an optional quest to hunt them all down so they stop annoying you.

Skyrim and Witcher III have taken up most of my gaming life.

Shallow ass game, massive empty world, you have rose tinted glasses on, atmosphere and music are the only tjings skyrime got right, the rest is carried by mods, the only reason its so popular is bc of how brain dead easy it is to play

Frustration getting out of Morrowinds dungeons? It was the easiest in the entire series, it was called Mark and Recall and it was diagetically sensical. Any class could use it. All your footage from morrowind was from the console version, if you havent played it on PC you should give it another whirl

Bethesda cant "continue dumbing down RPG mechanics" theyve dumbed it down as far as it can possibly go. The next step is remove the barely relevant leveling system and just make it a hack n slash. I had great fun with skyrim when i was a kid b4 i played any elder scrolls games. But now having played Morrowind & Oblivion, as well as all the most beloved RPGs i can honestly agree with most that Bethesda does not make RPGs anymore, not since Morrowind, and they probably never will again. Many wont buy 6 when it comes out unless they change their philosophy, there are better studios to support who dont appeal to the lowest common denominator at the sacrifice of creativity, ingenuity, and the genre

I was in jail when it came out and we all played it in there, all the time 😂. One of the inmates brothers brought it for him. And then I got out a year later and bought it myself and played THE SHIT out of it.

People saying Skyrim is just a game is the same as saying the Sistine chapel is just a building.

The many years has made appreciating this game harder and harder, especially with some critiques that I've seen of the game starting to ring a bit more true to me. I can't really call this a masterpiece anymore because of this fact. But this game is still one of the best RPGs you could play, and has absolutely earnt it's success. It's a flawed gem of a game, but even with those flaws, it's still a blast to pick up and play. And I promise you, fighting dragons will never get old for me. ...Although I will confess, I suck at ranged combat in that game, so fighting those scaly fuckheads is absolute agony at times, especially considering I don't usually get Dragonrend early on. But besides that, fighting them is still awesome.

Skyrim is the first game i have played on my PS3 in november 2011 and the last game I have played on my PS5 in April 2024.

Final Fantasy I hate to say I believe has the best soundtrack in all games. Although, Skyrim is still very good.

Funny thing Is I’ve played this game wrong from day one . Fallout 4 made this whole game click for me . I only dabbed with bgs games and beat this game and fallout 3 . But now understanding the combat and exploitation loop . I’ve always tried to force the game to do what I want and got overly bored because of this . I’m dumb I know 😝

Wtf you using CoC as an example for? That game is almost all strategy, the only thing you pay for is to skip upgrade times which wont help your attacking only your defense. And even then you have to have a good base layout otherwise you get 3starred by people your own TH level (you get 3 starred by high townhalls anyway)

i was only 12 when this game released. i had never played an elder scrolls game, but i had played fallout. so i bought it on release day. it has become a joke how many times it has been rereleased, but i played so long on my trusted xbox 360. i had 600+ hours on 1 save file

I would say vanilla Skyrim has gotten kinda boring. I played it on the PS3 and PS4 (having the most playtime) and a little bit on pc without mods. I just recently decided to mod Skyrim and it has become much more fun.

Can we go back to earn a Balut box systems because I have no problem with having the choice to buy a loot box for cosmetic skins or earn them for cosmetic skins because this whole notion that you have to buy a bunch of boxes to get the skin you want you don’t just play the game and earn your loot boxes for free until you get the skin you want or enough duplicate coin credits To buy it that’s what I did with overwatch before they turned it into a battle pass I enjoyed the loot box system in overwatch, but because the predatory loot boxes people basically thought they were predatory, but they weren’t overwatch has one of the least predatory loot box mechanics Because you know what is a predatory loot box mechanic, not having your loot boxes, able to be earned and giving your people who get the new boxes with money get an advantage Star Wars battlefront two what is a predatory game? And that’s why they went to court but now the government doesn’t wanna do anything about other games being predatory

One thing that pisses me off more than micro transactions is the fact that the US government doesn’t want to step in on predatory micro transactions because they stepped in with predatory loot boxes, and haven’t done a ruling since Actually, the government been putting themselves on the back saying that they’ve done a good job making the Gaming space so much better for kids, even though they literally have so many other issues that they’re ignoring like predatory Gaming of micro transactions that create Gaming addictions and general addiction And study show kids who are willing to buy micro transactions are more willing to gamble their money away when they’re old enough So maybe micro transactions isn’t good because it teaches kids nothing about the value of a dollar because they think $15 is OK to buy for one fortnight skin So they’re gonna think $15 for a bowl of soup is OK

One thing that really bothers me is that the US government made a ruling on predatory loot boxes and Gaming and basically just said you know what we’re done making rulings in video game industry let the companies break as many laws that they want because the laws don’t exist Because they literally got taken to court because of how predatory loot boxes are And the government I’ve literally just been like you know what we made a decision we’re not gonna bother making any more decisions to keep these video. Game company is from being greedy and we’re not gonna bother protecting our customers. Because right now there should be a lawsuit being towards Ubisoft, because they took down the crew a game that cost money Because nowadays you don’t on your game and that needs to change That if you own a digital copy you on the license to have permission to own the digital copy And they can’t take it away because it’s a good, not a service The government needs to definitely rule video games are a good, not a service because we are being scammed to hell because it’s considered a service They’re allowed to charge more money than they have to. They’re allowed to create these micro transaction subscription Hells. And they’re allowed to take our games away whenever they want. It doesn’t matter. We paid $70 for a game. They can take it back whenever they want.
