The Rebel Lounge

The Rebel Lounge is a live music venue located in Phoenix, Arizona. Housed in what used to be the home of The Mason Jar, Stephen Chilton of Psyko Steve Presents took over the building in 2015 to turn it into The Rebel Lounge.

A little bit of found footage from the Mason Jar archives! Christian Death (ft. Rozz Williams) performed this set 32 years ago to the day, supported by bands Victory Acres and Boot Beast. The majority of the setlist was hits from their 1982 album "Only Theatre of Pain," considered to be one of the driving forces behind deathrock and a huge influence on the American goth scene.

In 1990, grunge legends Nirvana toured the West coast in support of their debut album Bleach. The band performed at The Mason Jar on February 19th, 1990, playing mostly songs from Bleach, but also sharing new material from their second, breakthrough album Nevermind. This video of “About A Girl” was filmed at that show on February 19th, 1990 in Phoenix.

TOOL formed 30 years ago this year, in 1990. About a year before they released their first studio album Undertow in 1993, TOOL played their first Phoenix live show at The Mason Jar. This is a recording of the song "Sober" from that set.

The Rebel Lounge has completed its “ARIZONA” mural. The new mural is a collaboration between 8 of the best muralists in Arizona. The mural takes up the entire east side of the building. Modern Media Productions. VHS. Released in 1000 numbered copies back in 1992. Cleopatra Records would release this on Disc 2 of their "Death Club" DVD. Albeit very compressed. We just had our copy sent over to be captured in 1080p HD 60 Frames per second with lossless audio.
