Just seeing this and this is not scratching it's Picking.

I wish she would just scratch the hair with an appropriate comb. Using the small plastic comb, and scratching with not enough pressure on so much hair; is an indicator to me that she wants to spray the solution on the hair and then throughly scratch. The solution on the hair makes scratching easier for her. But I don't care for those soggy wet scratches.

I had it pretty bad in high school. Made my hair fall out in spots too. I tried so many different shampoos, home treatments, but my family was too poor to take me to the doctor. It finally cleared up on its own after about three years.

Oiling the scalp just aggravates this medical condition. If you suffer with the same, do not OIL the scalp.

I sure wish you were around as a beautician when I was a teenager...I would go to the shop and beauticians wouldn't want to touch my scalp because my flakes were out of control...eyebrows the sides of my nose and it was soo embarrassing and in the 80s it really wasn't anything to use back then besides Selsum Blue and Sulfur 8

If the client is asking about soomething such as a bump on his scalp, then the cleint needs to ask his dermatologist, not a salon syylist. Also in some areas on his scalp, the stylist is parting his hair too far apart. She really plans to use solution on his scalp to complete the scratching.
