Cool! Great singer. I was on a demo session in Oklahoma City for Stoney Edwards around 1975, and he brought Wayne in to do the vocals.
The undisputed Queen of Country!
Love this song.I'm really liking the band, too. R.I.P. John Bush Shinn. Thanks for all the great, authentic country music you left for us to enjoy.
Beautiful song inspired by Gram Parsons' description of George Jones.
Back when real talent got you to the top and not who showed the most skin while performing.
What a talented individual.......Great Singer, Song and the Opry Band with Weldon Myrick on pedal steel
So Awesome❤❤❤❤❤❤😊
This song stalled out at Number 11 on Billboard and Number 9 on Radio and Records. I have to believe it would have made at least the top 5 if Holly's record label at the time MTM hadn't suddenly went Belly Up as the song was still climbing the charts. Plus like most of her songs, it lacked a Music video. Even a performance video like this would have been better than nothing. Oddly enough it still made her greatest Hits album while two songs that actually charted higher "Why Wyoming" from 1987 and "What Your Love Does Too Me" from 1988 the latter that was a consensus top 5 single did not. I still think that "Why Wyoming" was one of her best songs. Maybe they planned to release another single off of the "Across The Rio Grande" Album either "The Stronger The Tie" or the title Track, but when MTM folded that never happened. Nonetheless, Warner Brother's failed to release what could have been some very big songs off of "The Blue Rose Of Texas", "Heartful Of Love" and certainly "Getting It Dunn" CD. Every one of those Album's was more than good enough they could have had Platinum sales with better promotion. more singles and were hurt by a lack of music videos.
Wow, Loved this song so much! Loved Holly so much! It's amazing to learn that she designed all her own stage outfits! Thanks so much for this upload. I'm still looking for the footage of her singing "Temporary Loss of Memory" live. One of many of her awesome songs that sadly were never released as singles that could have been simply huge. Holly was easily one of the most underrated artists ever. It made me so angry when she was Blacklisted by Country Radio before the end of 1991, but no one could give me a straight answer as to why this happened at the time. Cruel business.
Bonnie must of been the hottest thing in Bakersfield,Buck and Merle Married her & fuzzy on steel dated her ❤👍🎵🎶
