Great blue heron catches and swallows HUGE rodent
Filmed this at Doran Park in Bodega Bay, CA. Not sure what kind of rodent it nabbed, possibly a vole?

Lost traction on a sharp downhill turn, car went off road, slid sideways down a hill into a bay tree. If the tree had not of been there, the car would have rolled about 60-100 yards down a steep incline to the bottom of a canyon. Anyone need RS parts?

Ok back to swallowing my sub sandwich. Mmmm extra meat.
Can you imagine being that gopher? One second you're minding your own business, and the next thing you know you're in the jaws of a giant pterodactyl. After a few endless minutes of terror, you're then sliding down a dark narrow channel, getting crushed, and then into a pool of stomach acid, where you are then slowly disintegrated and digested.
When you just have an emergency but no one is answering the 911 lol

Amazing with such narrow beaks and throats the bird can swallow it whole. Wonder how long it takes digest it. 😳

why dont his rodents bite n tear their way out of that heron body??
you see how it shakes the rodent around for a while before swallowing it? they apparently do that to break their bones so they can't bite or scratch them.
The rodent was a water vole.
Wonder why it doesn't start scratching like mad 1:30

Wow, incredible catch on film, mate. No water to wash it down...hmm. The rodent seemed to be dead when the heron put it on the ground. I was trying to find the point at which it died.

Forgive me if I am wrong, but that looks staged. The rodent was conveniently just out of camera site and barley twitched. If you catch one in a trap the little bugger kicks up a racket
