I think these are the most utilitarian, reliable vehicle ever built! Turn the key on without starting and the oil level sensor will activate the pump to replenish the engine from the reservoir. Do this every oil change and the oil in the reservoir stays fresh. When you refill the reservoir, measure how much you put in and subtract that amount from the total. Back in the day there was a very active Previa Yahoo Group. I had a '93 AWD LE and it had ~350k kms when I sold it . . . with the original SADS!

i have worked on several japanese brands at diffrent dealerchips, all the oem filters are made by tokyo roki and they are the best, you might find them online but i doubt that they will be that much cheaper than just buying a couple at a dealerchip

Agreed with the comment that oil does go bad over time even without use. My previa didn't have that concern because the sender was stuck open so it wouldn't keep any oil up there :( Regarding the egr engine light, I'm pretty sure that came on after 100k miles and I've been unable to make it permanently go away. My previa is at 385k miles now so i think it's probably fine.

I suspect it is not the black paint but rather the rubber gasket above the black paint that is causing the staining. I think this because it does not show on the entire black paint strip. I could be wrong of course 😂. Try scrubbing the rubber gasket to clean it and coat with the rubber protector product of your choosing.

4:10 - One idea about that reserve oil. Technically oil does go bad with just age (distillates come out of solution, etc.) and heat cycling. It might make sense to send that reserve oil into the engine for use as part of the fresh oil fill, and top off the reservoir with fresh oil. Then for the next oil change, put the reserve oil in the engine again as part of the fresh oil fill, and top off the reservoir again. This way that reserve oil is only ever ~1-3 years old instead of eventually getting older and older until it's past its useful life.

i have a 94 awd silver previa, best vehicle ive ever owned! needs a little work again but still runnin well at 351k miles. If yours smells like mothballs see if you can borrow or get an ozone machine it should help, and then either dye or spray dye the carpet spots!

when i was 15 my dad used to own one, and gave it to me as my first car, best fucking car ever, the rear mid seat were bucket seat, and take in that they can rotate 360 dgreee any where you wanna rotate you sure can, i installed a power outlet 120v and installed tv and PlayStation, light used to pick up all my buddies and we go to the beach and game while driving such good memories. thank you for sharing

There’s an oil reservoir under the front hood. As long as you keep that filled you pretty much never need to check the oil dipstick under the seat. At least that’s what I did with my 1991 Previa. Good luck! Many happy miles to come!

Once you fix the AC, it should blow super cold. The rear AC vent bar on the ceiling is a game changer for keeping your homies chill in the back.
