Real military members that go to milsims like myself do not want to take it seriously, we go because we want the vibes and the comradeship of our previous service and the teamwork related activities without all the bullshit. Many milsimers get in a power trip like they know the right way to do something. A lot of us Veterans just learn to stay quiet and go with the flow because it’s not worth arguing with a milsim SF warrior. 🤣 most milismers don’t know the first thing about how to actually fight so it’s always funny seeing one that thinks they know what they are doing.

Here’s the thing, if you want to go to a casual airsoft game and be unfit and just have fun it’s fine that’s okay it’s just a game. But when you dress up as military or do a Seal Team Kit or go to a Milsim event you shouldn’t be fat. 1st point if you are representing a real unit in your kit then you being fat and not looking the part is a disservice to those who fought in that uniform even if it’s just for fun. I’m a military member and I love doing kits over time, Iraq war, Panama, Vietnam, WWII but the difference is I look the part. I’m knowledgeable and show respect to the uniform I wear even if it’s just at the field. 2nd part is at a Milsim, though you pay for the experience you are paying to be part of a team that relys on you to do your part. You can’t be out of shape at a Milsim event… you can and will get hurt being fit is the first step to injury prevention. If you want to play the game of airsoft longer you should be fit, all it takes is one wrong step in a pothole and bam you’re out of the fight.

Personally I like using my real kit for airsoft it’s a nice medium for finding out what works and what doesn’t before I have to go on deployment or go to the field for a couple weeks. As someone with experience if you go to the field not knowing how your kit will behave then you could be in for a bad time. The same goes for Milsim west type events.

Was into paintball for years. That stopped when I got married. Take from that what you will. Fast forward 13 years and my son wants into airsoft. Im stoked. Just ordered arcturus mk1 cqb. Will be here tomorrow.

Im 13 and i just went Airsofting for the first time and it was a blast everyone was very respectful and some people even let me use their guns for a bit! Its and amazing sport and its never too early to get into it!
