Want to go mountain biking at a bike park but don't know what to expect? This is the reason why MTBxSA was born.
My goal for MTBxSA is to visit as many bike parks in South Africa to show what you can expect when visiting the bike park.
Some riders would like to visit a bike park that has a lot of jumps or technical areas whereby other parks are more relaxed. I would like to show you what the trails are all about so that you can make an informed decision if the bike park is what you are looking for.

Went there today. The signage for MTB is really bad. All intersections with hiking have good signage for the hikers but little to none for the bikers, especially the blue trail!!

Rode the 26km route on a hartail 3x9. 9 months later bought a 1x12 dual sus scott spark and boy the difference is chalk and cheese.

Great job, but could have used brighter lighting in your workshop so the vid would of had more detail viewing.
The video asked what do you use to tru your rims. Take your rim off your bike. Remove the tire and inner tube. Put the rim back on the bike. Flip the bike upside down. Use something screwed into where the breaks screw into the forks and frame to determine if the rim is bent. Or just make something that you press against the rear bike frame and forks and also comes close to the rim to determine where the rim is bent.

what is the best type of mtb to get for SA trails and how many downhill/enduro trails are in gauteng
Most of the trails in SA are XC, but there are a couple of trails where you can do downhill or trail. Grootfontein has a nice flow line, Iron throne is a nice DH trail. Biffelsdrift have about 6 enduro lines as well and a 2km flow line called the supertube. I have videos on all of these.

I've been there when they opened and took footage, just never gotten around to actually post it (my life has been hectic the last couple of months, hence the lack of new content) They have a couple of trails there, the one I did was a nice relaxing one, but it did seem there was another which had a couple of jumos. Still want to head out there and do that one
How do you have such smooth video on a chest strap , I have a GoPro Hero 7 and my footage is not nearly as smooth What Camera do you use or do you use a gimbal as well Thanks
Hi Divan, I make use of a chest strap. I have the GoPro Hero 7 Black recording at 4k. Not using any gimbal.
Great safe place to ride. Did the 12km (route3) the last 2 weekends with my son who I'm introducing to MTBing and did the 22km track (route 2) solo today. Riding is currently R60.
Red Barn is still one of my favorite places to go riding, especially since they also introduced the jump line.

I'd recommend making the upright supports adjustable to accommodate different axle spacing such as the different spacing of front and rear wheels.
