C6's are quite easy to rebuild. 1st gear (D) is a forward clutch and one way clutch (sprag) holding. 1st gear manual (lever pulled to 1) Forward Clutch and Low-Reverse Clutch. 2nd Gear is Forward Clutch and Band Applied. 3rd Gear is Forward Clutch, Reverse and High Clutch. Reverse is and High Clutch Low and Reverse Clutch. Pump has to be in good shape. Valve body same. All bushings need to be replaced and probably thrust washers and most of this comes in a good rebuild kit. Band and sprag will probably need to be replaced and maybe the servo piston too. I haven't been into a c6 since the 90's when I ran them in my race car but they are not hard to build. There are other Trans choices too. FMX and C4 but the drive shaft lengths are different. C6 is probably better setup in a truck. They are too damn heavy for racing in my opinion but I did it anyway and they lasted fine they just eat a lot of HP with heavy rotating parts. You can fabricate most if not all of the tools you need to do one. This manual is C6 and AOD as the AOD is very similar................... goodshop.ukrtrans.biz/wp-content/uploads/catalogs/C6.pdf

Had a great time riding around looking at some cool old cars and picking up a cool old ford with a great fiend of mine, and also we got to swing by and see tj hes a good ole friend of mine and hes gots some awesome old cars up at his place and a super great guy that understands cars also

He's got the wrong year ss hood inserts on it. The actual hood is the same but the 67 ss had ribbed inserts and the 68 and 69 had those four square inserts.
