    Good one, helps to easily visualize torsional vibration of components mounted on a rotating component.

      That is the technical drawing of a Geislinger spring damper. Horst made the effort to animate the damper, but be assured, on our drawings, they are not moving.😅

    • @stephanlange2136
      @stephanlange2136 Před 3 měsíci

      That is the tip of a spring pack, displacing the oil under impact of the torsional impulse. Its hard to animate the physics in such a way, that the general audience gets the point. But Horst did a marvelous job here!

    there is so much theory behind vibration damper. but by the time its explained ppl may be confused. so its a nice try .i would prefer a pleasent music though but you wanted to match your harmonics of music with the equipment.. nice

    • @stephanlange2136
      @stephanlange2136 Před 3 měsíci

      Its not a viscous damper, it is a Geislinger spring type damper. Or to be more precise, a hydraulically damped spring detuner. But we build viscous type dampers, too.

    • @stephanlange2136
      @stephanlange2136 Před 3 měsíci

      Outer mass (inertia) is coupled to inner by radial placed steel springs. Gives the detuner effect. In addition, the torsional twist between outer and inner inertia is damped by squezzing oil from on chamber to the other, giving hydraulic loses (= damping), lowering torsional resonance amplitudes further.

      This is neither a rubber nor a viscous damper. It is a spring damper.
