    This will make you sick but after you dose u can use to feel better. That is the only time you should use or else you will precip every sub dose. Cut your use down very low and only use it to help the subs so not continue your 40 pill a day use while trying this.

    I've done 3 300 mg shots of Sublocade after 2 years on Suboxone. I would like to just walk away now. Is it necessary to end on a final 100 mg shot? If anyone has experience and can answer the question I'd be most appreciative..

    What if you have tapered down on Suboxone before the Sublocade. The reason I ask is I was on 8mg for a couple years. Then 4mg a day for close to a year.. I know people who take a lot more. So if your on 4mg a day it seems the sublocade shot after the first ween dropping might not be as bad for someone who has tapered some. Just a thought good luck everyone.👍.

    I’ve been through 20 years of opiate addiction. Prison, jails, rehabs, IOP, meetings on my own as well as court ordered treatment. Believe me when I say your best odds at recovery are utilizing places like this and all they have to offer. I’m so mad at myself for relapsing after the few times I went to Rehab and achieved sobriety. The last time I relapsed it cost me the love of my life and I haven’t had the heart or strength to get sober again but I’ve been watching your videos and preparing myself for this last quit. This ugliness that is fentanyl has changed everything and made it much more difficult to stop but I’m determined even if I have to deal with some PWD (precipitated withdrawal). It’s time to get my life back, I’ve lost too much

    I started my taper from 40mg diazepam a day nearly 2 months ago. I’m down to 30mg now. It’s been fine so far although I have felt boughts of fatigue. I’m managing to work and provide for my family. Exercise helps and a good diet. I take magnesium and after each drop of 1mg I find taking an antihistamine helps with staying asleep. I usually take them for 3 days. My GP has been brilliant. I gave her the Ashton taper manual and we are using that as a guide. I’m finding 1mg reductions a week OK for now. I’m sure after time I may have to hold and reduce a little slower, but I’m feeling positive.

    what they need to do is stop having people go slowly onto fentanyl. what they should do is bridge people with however much oxycodone or dilaudid or whatever the patient wants to let the fentanyl get out of the body. Have them take the dilaudid for 5-6 days and then have them go into moderate withdrawal and initiate subutex 12-24 hours after the 5th day of a normal opioid. It would be infinitely less painful than this stupid rapid detox shit

    Dr. Starr I don't know if you will see this but I have to try. I decided after being on suboxone for about 15 years to try sublocade.I was on 8 mg a day. I got my third and final shot may 2nd this year so I am roughly 12 weeks out from that last shot. I did 300, 100 and then one more 100. About 9 weeks out I started to really notice a lack of energy and anhedonia but I just kept doing what I normally do and it was bearable. About the 11th week I woke up about 2 am one night in what felt like full withdrawal. I tried to tough it out for about an hour or so and then caved and took a small sliver of a film. I got up that morning and took another small sliver so maybe total about 1.5 mg and felt slightly over medicated. I am going to try one more 100 mg shot and this time my doctor is prescribing some clonidine just in case about week 8 or 9. My question is have any of your patients experienced this and do you think one more shot will help? I am ready to be free and I have never been more disappointed than I was that night. If you do find the time to reply and even if not, I want to express my gratitude for the work you do and the time you take to make these videos. Thank you.

    RX Film Cutting Guide - That's the template we all use to cut our strips and wean down. Ive used it successfully for years. Buy a pack of razor blades and a magnifying glass if you need one. Also, buy a pill container to put your doses in. Then just follow the doc's advice. Wean down slowly. Precision matters when cutting your doses so take your time. Have a calendar to keep track of your progress.

  • @mjm1535
    @mjm1535 Před 8 dny

    You seem like a good doctor and you've put out some pretty great info on this subject, and for that, I thank you. My only gripe is that I think maybe you shouldn't try and encourage people to get 4-5 shots. I understand that a small amount of people will benefit from that many shots, but most of us whom are just trying to end our decade-long dependance on Bupe and have successfully weaned down to 2mg or less, that is way too many shots. For those of us who are not trying to replace Suboxone with Sublocade as a form of long-term maintenance, the GOAL should be to get AS LITTLE AMOUNT OF SHOTS AS POSSIBLE...that means 1 shot and done, 2 if absolutely necessary, and definitely no more than 3. We are trying to GET OFF Bupe, not have so much introduced into our system that it can be detected in our urine 2 YEARS LATER. I think more people should be made aware of how long this stuff can stay in your system if you get multiple shots, particularly of the 300mg variety. What do ya'll think?

    I've come off Suboxone plenty of times, once from as high as 8mg. If only I had the knowledge I have today, I would have gone back on at 2mg after being over a month off of it. This guy has the correct methodology for tapering this medication. I taper slow (once a month usually less if I feel better quickly) usually I can tolerate 16 to 10, though this isn't recommended, but depending on your doctor, it may be necessary, b/c not all doctors are created equal. 10 to 8, 8 to 6, 6 to 5 or 4, probably 5, b/c slow and steady wins the race with tapers. Then 3, 2, and the difference is I would do 2 to 1.5 to 1 to .75 to .5 to .25 to .125 but 2 to 1.75 is probably better, although I have trouble with accuracy on the films. I feel that the 2mg being the lowest dose is by design by the pharma companies that make it, b/c 2mg is the halfway point in a taper. They likely know this, and purposely put it there and try telling patients not to cut it in the hopes they'll stay on it forever. Quite sick, if you ask me. Slow and steady wins the race, though. Your better off tapering over a year than getting off it 6 times in a year a month at a time then going back on it and staying stuck at a high dose. Best of luck to you all.

    Hi. Thanks for the video. I was in a trial for Brixadi at the leading clining in the leading hospital in NYC. After 3 shots I elected to discontinue. After 4-6 weeks I couldn't sleep. They had no idea about long tapers. It's clear that Brixadi/Buvidal is more about maintenance than discontinuation. (I'm sure Sublocade is better with its longer duration) Flash forward to now. After that failed Brixadi jump, I went back on .5mg for 2 years. I just jumped after stabilizing at .125mg for 1 month. Day 10 of jump and only had mild WDs on day 2-4 (mostly fatigue). I imagine that i was micro-withdrawing all through my taper. QUESTION: Does the brain healing start only after the jump or does it begin at the super-low taper doses?

    Why aren’t more Drs who prescribe this stuff this educated? I am tapering now and using Quickmd. Most of the Drs are just turn and burn so when I found one that was willing to help me taper,I found it was hard to get that same Dr with regularity. I’m debating whether I need to just try a couple of 100 mg shots. I have been on this medicine for too long now and am down to 3.5-4 mgs. I am always hearing how the last 2 mgs and under are hardest. I am ready to be bupe free already!

    I took strips for years and struggled to find a provider who offered Sublocade. I still have to drive over an hour away from my home for my monthly injection. I've received several injections, and the current game plan is to remove more and more drops from the 100 mg injections and receive less every month until I'm at zero. A few people told me this slow taper plan doesn't make sense, but I feel fewer side effects like hot flashes and sleep disturbances while working towards being bupe-free.
