Hunter's mystic pen... Garcia's plaintive voice. When was it I first heard and saw them? It may have been an August early evening. I know not the year, but near a lifetime has since lapsed
Had 12th row seats for this. My late buddy was lamenting that he forgot the binoculars in the car. I told him “Willy, we ain’t gonna need them tonight. This one blew him away. Thanks for sharing.🎶🙏
this song is one of the most interesting grateful dead songs, you have so many different rising and falling intervals this is just perfect that the Dead did a "Jazz" tune
This is just how I remembered it. Carlos just couldn't find a spot to play until they settled in a straight E jam. Tough tune for a sit in unless you're Branford Marsalis.
I’m so very lucky to have been able Grateful Dead in person. One of my favorite bumper stickers of all time “ Grateful Dead the greatest show on earth “ They left us with a life time of memories and timeless music! Thank you to the Grateful Dead and all the rest that made this possible for SO MANY years 😎✌️
Wow! Brent singing his heart out. I read Kreutzmann's book. He said Brent was always kinda paranoid the we (Deadheads) didn't like him. He always felt like the new guy. And he loved his wife and daughters so very much but his wife left him. That crushed him I think. It came out on this night in his music though. He died a tortured soul just a few months later of a an overdose. Tortured soul and heart! 😥
We came from Cleveland, Ohio. The temperature was 104 deg. F. on that day in Cleveland AND at Buckeye Lake. That was a Cleveland record temp. and almost an Ohio state record! The water spigots were running full tilt all day. Frisbee galore. Good people. Good friends. The best Dead carnival I ever attended.
Jerry’s light never fade away
Awesome
My favorite Standing on the Moon period. played with so much Passion.
I love you all!! 💙
This is from Cleveland. I was there
Truly amazing
Not used to Vince's organ yet
Now this is a cool video !
These songs have now officially seen me through my lowest point in life and then throughout some fantastic ones, hugely grateful 😊
I love this song! I used to listen to Jerry sing it and spin - dancing- like praying❤🙏

or maybe several lifetimes
Clarence was and still is the MAN !! 🎷
Looks and sounds as if Jerry got his proper dose of ADHD meds for this show because he's spot on in every facet of this tune

"Days Between" and "So Many Roads" combined make me think Jerry knew his end was near even though Robert Hunter wrote the lyrics.
Got to see em play this & new speedway boogie at deer creek couple months later. The house was jumpin when they played Maggie’s farm
Oh yeah!
This band! ‘Nuff said.
IWT, god damn I miss Jerry so much still. Can’t thank him enough for the endless hours of music he left for us to listen to.
Such an underrated song. Gets me every time.

At the time, I thought they were messing with him.
I was at this show.
One of the most beautiful souls to play music - ever.
Mindmeltingorgeous deliciousness… from a Longtermist perspective - this is an example of what can be lost if we destroy ourselves
I love you Jerry RIP
Oh river rise from your sleep
The spiral light of venus, rising first and Shining best
quite an intro!
The one and only 88 version on YT at this time. Thanks for posting
Love this song
And a special thanks to Daniel Lanois.
Should've been here!!! But the man had me down in chains! Warfield was like being at Church with Rev Jerry
