its a horrible deadly cancer , RIP Lexie once it express the liver. It is stage four there is treatments that will prolong life, but this cancer will kill you when it spreads.
Thanks for sharing your story Amy!
Interesting the video:"Burzynski Movie".
Thank you for sharing your story!
Yes it was amazing
Awesome! Now I know how to share my story. A must watch for those wanting to document their story.
The chance of spread is a lot greater if you have the eye removed versus plaque radiation surgery I have definitely seen that it spreads quicker more often and faster and people that do not keep their eye the plaque radiation kills the cancer cells when they remove your eye 15 years later, there are still cancer cells in the socketI am sorry everyone that has horrible disease and everyone has passed away
This very cool , everyone has some stories worth preserving for their families ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤

There are so many new treatments, hopefully one will work
I had no idea that the eye could give us so much information about what is going on inside of our bodies. Thanks for this very informative video and thank you, Dr. Dorothy for sharing your knowledge with us.
This is awesome information ,so true you are what you eat !!! The chemicals that are in todays processed food is very alarming, thanks so much for making all this great content!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Wonderful video. Always good to hear fellow Omies stories. Found the background music distracting though😊
Love ❤️ the video
Always so grateful to patients willing to share their stories so courageously and talk about the hard topics.
Wow what an amazing story
Total inspiration thanks for your story ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
I have followed her and admired her from the very beginning. She has been doing this for thirty-some years. I have watched her land #1 Bestselling book, was awarded “Worldwide Leader in Healthcare” by the International Nurses Association for creating Doulagivers and named Humanitarian Ambassador for Oprah Magazine in 2019 for her work to bring peace and comfort to those facing the end of life around the world. She is amazing!

Thank you for sharing your experience with ocular melanoma! If you don’t mind I’d appreciate the names or clinic in Tampa where you had your care. I have a “freckle” on my retina that has been followed with yearly or twice yearly specialist visits. The freckle has not changed for around 10 years. May want a second opinion as I have a second diagnosis now of mild macular degeneration.
Sorry. I just heard the Dr’s name, Dr Paven I believe but I guess that’s a moot point as he is retired.
Love to learn thanks for sharing
I wish so bad I could see you. My dream was to be an actress and in may 2023 my sister & best friend died from glioblastoma. Then after that (right before Christmas) I was in a tragic accident and nearly lost the whole eye. I still don’t know if I’ll lose the whole thing. But the eyeball does not hurt. Anyway I think you are a hero and hope you keep up the brilliant work.
I love this content and learning about tcell for cancer treatment
God bless you, I hope for positive outcomes for you. It’s so scary. Did you have gene testing/biopsy on the tumor? I ws just wondering what they said yours was. In my prayers.
Did either of you have any back, stomach or shoulder discomfort before the diagnosis? Are either f you enrolled in any trials if available? Thank you for your openness.
Thankyou so much for sharing your story
Wow this is amazing information Thankyou so so much for sharing this today
As the mother of a brave 27-year-old daughter with OM (choroidal melanoma), Eleanor Levine, I'm game for this challenge too! BTW, Ellie was the editor of this video<3
As a person with OM, I will do this. I need to sign up.
the link should be working now! Please make a team and get your family on board, and your community helping us raise money!
I just got diagnosed, and not sure how I feel about it. Hopeful that it is the primary tumor. And Singular tumor. I will treat the eye. But. Dont know how I would feel about anything else. Im 51. I think this has been here a while tho. It’s nice to hear your stories. Thank you.
Thank you for this! There is a bad echo, as you know. I was diagnosed in September 2023 and it was already a large tumor. By the time I got to Wills Eye hospital, Oct 19, 2023 it had taken over much of my eye and they had to enucleate my eye. I am doing the same now. I am always bumping into walls and knocking things off counters and making spills. This is why I don’t drive. I’m afraid to hurt someone.
I was diagnosed that month last year too! also got enucleated because the tumour was on the larger size.
Does this mean you lost your eyesight?
My ocular melanoma was humongous. The doctor said, but he said it is always better to keep your eye, so I got to keep it.
I’m multiracial and was shocked when I was diagnosed with Om. Would love to get in touch with u
I have just been diagnosed and in shock
I’m sorry his story doesn’t sound too realistic and this is no disrespect
well it was , he died of ocular melanoma , it spread to his liver
Jesud
I am an OM survivor 5 1/2 years past diagnosis and treatment. I have, I believe the best Ocular Oncologist possible. But I have been frustrated with my general oncologist and am thankful for this episode encouraging patients to get plugged into community.
Did the cancer spread?
Grateful with you❣️
The risk of this cancer spreading is the same whether they remove your eye or not I had a massive tumor but I got to keep my eye and had radiation plaque surgery April 14
Thank you all and each of OM faces. Sending love to all with OM from the north of Finland. I was diagnosed in summer 2023, had a therapy plaque in July will soon have my first check up in Helsinki, some 700 km distance.
It spread to clay Butlers liver and he died 17 months after the doctor removed his eye
Dr Murray saved my daughter's life as she was diagnosed with bilateral Retinoblastoma when she was 4 months old in Miami, he saved her eyes and been cancer free for 24 years
Life is uncertain. I now have two certainties: I have a recently treated OM and I can still see. I had to get beyond the regret of not insisting on a biopsy but two years ago, it may not have been melanoma. On expert analysis over a 2 year period my case was in the watch and wait mode as the growth didn’t look or act like an OM . When “it” changed so did my life. I pray to be useful in this journey.
I love these thoughts and your perspective. thank you for sharing this with us!
American healthcare is disgusting. In Australia this operation would have been free.
I agree about healthcare in the US, it's disgusting.
I was grateful that I have the American Medicare which is much better than the insurance I had with my company I had retired from. My total was $733.00 for my part. Enucleation saved my life… so far.
@@peekaboocockatiel6514 Medicatre can get very confusing with all the "parts" and the gaps and the donut hole. I wish they could simplify it.
