nice
What book is that?
It's the "Red Book" and "Numismatic Guide to Grading". I got both off of Amazon. Make sure you get the newest release so it is up to date. I personally have last year's but make sure every 5 years or so you get new.
What is the name of this book & where did you get it?

A very good video for beginners.
Thank you
Ofc!! Like I said, I looked for this all over and I couldn't get anyone who would show me how. I'll probably do a more in depth video later on a specific coin and show under the microscope but for now I believe this should suffice what people need to know.
Looks great 3:03
However, you can easily determine that by looking on the edge. If it doesn’t have a copper edge, it’s silver!
The first couple secs made me think it was gonna be a crypto video 😂
It’s because the workers in the San Francisco mint in the 70s used to moonlight and strike coins that were errors and sneak them out of the mint and sell them at a premium on the street
I usually average 1 West Mint quarter per 500 dollar box. My wife dropped my digital microscope so I can’t find errors any more until I get another; but I find less Business Strike S coins than I do West points. Just started collecting coins around Christmas time last year; but I have around 25 West Mints and 2 S business strikes. Have found proof strike S’s also. It’s fun
I haven't searched a lot of quarters only because saving them is a lot for me being 17 and trying to save for a house. I'm looking to get boxes of all denoms soon though. I pray for W's anytime I search quarters lol. Do you have all the designs or are you still missing some?
Nice video
How did it get like that tho? That’s kinda cool tbh
So my best explanation was that the dime was already struck and ready to be sent out when it fell on the floor. From there it was picked up and just thrown into the nickel planchets carelessly or it was picked up with a possible spill. From there it got sent through like a regular nickel this getting the nickel strike. Then it was put in a nickel roll or bag with the others and was found by a lucky person. Anyone can find one at any time. You've just gotta look for them 😉
That’s actually super cool
I have a non struck dime from the 80's. I got it out of a fresh roll from the mint. You can examine the edge and see the non silver layer in the middle.
I've always wanted to find a blank planchet!! A dime planchet is worth about $8 so that's a great find!!!
@@Pocket_Pickers i didnt even know what the name of it was called. If i can find it, i would be glad to give it to you. I have kept it all these years but didnt think anyone would believe what it was. I will see if i can find it if your interested in giving it a home.

Hello fellow coin hunter I’m about to upload my videos this month and I also love your videos !
Great organization and super nice video 👍21 additions are awesome. Thanks for sharing.
Who buys this stuff?
People who find value in collecting rarities.
Wow
I thought the nickel DIDN’T have ANY silver in it.
Only some 1942 and all 1943-45 nickels did. It was because we were in war time and nickel was more valuable than silver in our munitions.
Super info 👍
Your lucky on coppers in that box that’s the % I was getting 8-10 years ago now it’s about 12 maybe 14 % for me.
It is oddly high. I don't collect the coppers though. I just return them. If you know anyone who collects I'm happy to sell by the roll.
Nice sharing 👍 I’m just starting and there’s so much to learn. Thanks for your info 😊😊
I'm glad I could help! I'll be releasing more videos soon with more information and I'll even eventually go into specifics with different denominations and what you should always look for whether it be mints, errors, varieties, or key dates/low Mintages. Please stay tuned as there's plenty more to come!
Heyyyyyyy I gotta say very nice channel I like the style your videos are
Thanks Dalton 😄
I hope you stick around to watch my upcoming videos!!
I will they are very interesting and entertaining

Is there any way you could send me images of the book itself??
You should get a checklist of errors and varieties to look for or you might miss out. Like the 92, 98,99,2000 CAM's and WAM's. Or the 1984 doubled ear lobe are pretty easy to spot.
I have a small list put together for myself but thank you so much for your list! I will look at it and take not of any I find worth it. I don't look for it on camera only bc it takes a lot of time when I hunt a complete box, video dropping tomorrow, so I check it on my own and I'm going to be making a video with all of my personal errors I found and put them under the microscope. Thank you so much for your support!!!
Wow that’s awesome 👍
Because rich people say a coin is rare so one should buy it, rare or not it should not cost more than a car. Hell, more than a small house
I appreciate your comment! I would like to correct something though, rich people do not say this coin is rare. Instead, since the coin is a rarity people will bid on it and it just so happens that someone was willing to pay that much for something so incredible. It's like why do people buy a mansion or a collectible card of some sort? It's so they can have a rarity, something that doesn't have a replica that that can say, this is mine and nobody can say the same.
There rarely man, I own one and it’s real got it checked out and you’ll have to look out for sand blasting that means their proof, I’m asking a quarter million for mine
