Okay I'm starting to think this skin colour thing is 100% on purpose. I'm doing a movie marathon of completely random and forgotten films from 1995-2005, with my limits only being that it's in English - so it's giving me a lot of American films. This is like the 5th American movie I've found where it's like a "white cop" who is all serious or formal and a funny black partner who is all zany and informal, used for comic relief. The same thing over again. Especially since here the stereotype is the other way around, black people are statistically more often serious doctors or academics emigrating from Africa. Africans I meet tend to be more serious than the rest of us.
