WCW Revenge is my Favourite game of all time... like every console ever genre, this is the game I still play daily since I first got it or as much as possible in my 40's now.. but emulators have made it even easier for gaming on the go

The worst offense by Rage in the Cage is that Sculptured Software had a CD format to use and didn't get the real entrance songs from the WWF. They just used recordings of their own chiptune versions played from a SNES.

Hey everyone. This video completed filming and editing in August of 2023 and was available on Patreon since that date. This time around, i'm taking a look at the 3 biggest wrestling titles of that year and one bonus extra to round things out for that year as a whole before we move forward onto new and exciting adventures in the world of professional wrestling video games. Back in the day, 80's and early 90s it was pretty common to rent games. games were insanely expensive almost the same as they are today. so spending 1.99-5.99 on a game for 2-3 nights was a no brainer. Thankfully some games lead themselves to this. a bad game wasn't so bad because u only played it for 3-6 hours at most it didn't have to be that Xmas present or birthday gift which would likely be where u get the majority of the games u got during the year. WWF WrestleMania was defiantly one of those renting games. Was fun for a short time. But completely unbalanced at least for 10 year old me. Anyhow I guess the algorithm brought me here. WCW wrestling was my first pro wrestling game and i still love it. Super Star Pro wrestling (the game they updated their wrestlers on) was released in 1989 not 84

Growing up with most of these games I remember when Wrestlemania came out for NES how cool we thought it was for the real characters but how boring and awful the controls were. When WCW came out for NES my local video store was difficult to rent it from as it was a very popular rental. We all went crazy for the amazing new concepts such as picking your moves before each match. Plus it’s the only video game to ever feature Hot Stuff Eddie Gilbert. Royal Rumble and Super Wrestlemania were different for each console which led to many SNES vs Genesis wars amongst kids as to which system had the better versions. Superbrawl had an amazing select a wrestler screen and nothing else was playable in that game lol. WCW vs the World was my first PS1 game and was so cool to play at the time until of course we got WCW/NWO world tour for N64.

I've read that they were making exclusive stories (or two sides of the same story) with each character and when having played both you unlocked the extended ending... THAT SIMPLE, THAT CLEAN... but halfway, because of baby fan outcry when they found there was not gonna be zapping system, they tried to "remake" that too, going off the rails of their new vision, IMPROVISING... and making a mess of a story/stories. The zapping system was awesome back in the day, but it was not the most important think to remake in this game. It was the damn characters, scenarios, moments... but (if what I told is true) YOU FANS ruined it. Still, RE2R is a great game. Messy, but great.

2:20:17 it actually makes quite sense for Ada to leave Leon. By this point, Leon and Ada are having a reluctant team relationship at the moment. Ada is trying to complete her mission on her own, but keeps running into Leon, and as far as Leon knows right now, she's just a normal civilian with a gun looking for her boyfriend, so when she runs off after Ben's death, is quite fed up with Ada at the moment and advises they work as a team. Ada tries to pursue Annette, but it's almost shot until Leon just gets in the way of Ada taking a shot for her. While Annette escapes, you can tell she doesn't want to leave Leon like this, but has to for the sake of her mission, as if she treats his wounds now, Annette can escape. After Annette is dealt with and Leon and Ada reunite, she then treats his wound and start to have a better relationship with each other, soon turning romantic. While the 98 characters aren't perfect, things like this are why I prefer 98's story and characters over RE 2 Remake. I mean 2 Remake Leon legit let Ben die just because he wants permission to let Ben out in a zombie outbreak like permission matters anymore right now 💀 what an asshole.

I have plenty of problems with the RE2make, but the utter butchering of the once-coherent twin storylines and failure to replace them with even a single functional storyline has to stand at the top of the list. Thank you for being willing to defy the hype and call the game out on this mistake, and my only regret is that I didn't find this video to say this sooner.

Came here after watching the quick rant you posted on RE2make. Have to agree on pretty much everything, the remake felt like a missed opportunity as it cut out so much content, specifically all the things that elevated RE2 over the first game. One thing that always bothered me about the remake is that after you meet up with Sherry after the orphanage and are chased by Mr X, Birkin kills Mr X, yet he's still in the B scenario. Possibly one of the more egregious oversights.

Just stumbled across this and it's a relief that someone else gets that the RE2make isn't as amazing as people were making it out to be. I enjoyed my Claire A run through and Mr X popping up put me on the backfoot as I wasn't expecting him. That made me excited for the Leon B run through as I was thinking they'd mix things up by putting something else in there, but... nope. I read a while back that until about 6 months before launch there was no scenario B and it was crowbarred in at the last minute. I don't know if this is true or not, but it does make a lot of sense. It explains Mr X's appearance in A, the lack of the zapping system, the repetition of boss fights and the lack of interaction between Leon and Claire. I had such high hopes for the 2make, the 3make was another kick in the teeth, so with the 4make on the horizon, I'm not holding my breath. It's a real shame. I guess sometimes it's true: They don't make 'em like they used to.
