When we're in Key West, we always make reservations & take the water taxi over to Sunset Key to have breakfast & or lunch at Latitude's.
Yes, I think we got the very last reservation at the very last minute on our very last evening when we were there. We now know better for the future as we will go back. Thx for the great idea, the for watching and thx for commenting. 🥰🥰
@@JoEllenandJoeDo you remember when the Latitudes restaurant was in a building on the left hand side? You know when you get off of the water taxi & walk up the dock & paver's pathway, the restaurant is in the 1st building on the right hand side? It originally was in a building that was on the left hand side back in the late '90s to early 2000s. They took down the old building & built more cottages.
@@stevenhall9009 - We didn't know that but thanks for sharing! While we love it out there and our meal, service and ambiance was amazing, we don't think we would want to stay out there. We prefer to be more in the thick of things as they say. But as we get older, we may like a more calm stay...time will tell. Again, thanks for that info 🥰

Is there air conditioning or a refrigerator?
We don't believe so...we remember the fans keeping us really cool and we know they would bring ice if needed but we don't think the rooms were equipped with a refrigerator. Thanks for watching and commenting! 😊
Great video! Planning to visit in a few months. Based on your experience is american cash accepted there? Also, you mentioned you had a driver while you were there. Is that apart of the resort or was it a private service? Im looking for transportation options as we are staying in a rental.
Hi there! Thanks for your kind words and we're glad you like the video. Yes, US cash is not only accepted but they love it. So for every Belize dollar, that $.50 US so it's easy doing the 2-1 conversion. $1 US = $2 Belizean. We were staying at www.itzanabelize.com/ resort so they have drivers that will take you to town and then pick you back up at a designated time as a service of the hotel. Based on where you're rental is located, you might be close enough to town, to take bikes. You could also rent a golf cart captainjaks.com/rental-rates/ so you have full control of your travels. We know there are some taxis as well that are not expensive. Once you're in the town of Placencia, it's so small you can walk from one end to the other so you don't need to drive anything in town. This was the last day of our vacation so we decided to take a day trip from Lisbon and head to Praia da Comporta. Here's another beach we visited in Portugal: czcams.com/video/d61lHnyTWe4/video.html We took the 25 de Abril Bridge over to Almada where we caught the ferry in Setúbal and took that over to Troia. From there we were a short 12 min. ride to the beach we wanted to visit and we had an amazing day. If you in or around Lisbon, make sure you schedule a day to go and relax on this beautiful beach. While the comments on your video actually answer the question, “which areas to avoid?“ - the video seldom explains where you are, or what areas to avoid.
Hi Kathy, It was hard for us to remember the exact location where these instances happened once we were back in the states and editing our video so we put the areas in the description of this video. We stayed in an Airbnb in the Arroios neighborhood and usually walked from there into the city center of Lisbon and along the way, we would run into these harmless situations. Other areas at night where you need to be cautions include Baixa, Martin Moniz street, the vicinity of Avenida Reis and Praca da Alegria near Rossio, as well as Monsanto Park. In Barrio Alto, while popular, be aware that it's known for the presence of individuals selling cannabis and hashish. We hope this helps, thanks for watching and thx for commenting. J&J 🥰

😂😂😂😂 Lisbon still 1000% safer than your own country America, I advise to look out to your own cities San Francisco, New Your, Boston, etc even small towns with Fentanyl epidemic. The only country I'm aware with an App illustrating where to avoid poo 💩 ,yes poo on the pavements, sidewalks, etc... Constantly mass shootings, etc etc... Portugal its not perfect but far far safer than Murica!!! 9:55
Yes, all countries have their own unique issues with crime, drugs and homelessness. We love Portugal and we were merely giving a tip that being adventurous and going way off the beaten path, is not always safe.
You're jokers right! Titling your video "Areas to avoid in Lisbon" and you show us a second or two of film clip where you walk down a back alley leading to nowhere and interrupt a drug deal or some drug taking, returned back on yourselves without any harm, distress or any harassment or any attention brought to you by those two guys, continue to walk around with your camera stick in everyone's face like it's a circus show for the world to see, walk around a restaurant free and easy like a prima donar then subtitle a "Crazy taxi journey" and I see nothing unusual, a car going down a one way road at worst which happens everywhere in the world...... Lisbon is Western Europes safest capital city and Portugal is the safest Western European country and you're making a scene so embarrassing for yourselves..... Have you seen or are aware of the state of your own cities, the crime riden streets and gun violence etc, would you advise someone doing the same thing as yourselves in a USA city..... really! There is no comparison to your country and you have some cheeky audacity 😅 I write this as I go to Portugal about three times a year, I own property there and it's a peace of cake and walk in the park, never had trouble even when I was walking about half drunk in the middle of the night talking with characters that looked like your usual suspects.... Sure there are poverty striken areas with crime and vulnerable to walk around at certain times but go to any major city in the world, walk around the back streets and poorest districts with nice clothes and with a camera on display in everyone's faces as a cash laden tourist and you'll lose everything a lot lot quicker than any tourist in Lisbon! I conclude that you exaggerated your video title for views and essentially a click bait, such attention seeking says a lot about your self centred attention brabbing characters or you're clueless stupid idiots 😂 I'm so happy that I will never have to meet you there 😊
It's all cities, my kids want to go travelling and I've told them don't just go to tourist areas go a bit off thd beaten track to see the real country/ city, but not to much
Yes, we love to go off the tourists route and really be a part of the culture and spend time with the residents of the places we visit. This time we went a little too far off the beaten path. Your advice is perfect…explore but always be safe and have a great understanding of your surroundings.

On this day we attempted to take a quick detour on our way to Lisbon to stop in Sintra. We were told what an enchanting little town it was and how beautiful the palaces were. Unfortunately, it requires a little more planning than simply showing up as all the tours and entrance tickets were sold out to for the day. The little town gets so busy, we couldn't even find a decent place to park to walk around. We left the beautiful Tuscany region and drove to Rome and checked into our Airbnb and then returned out rental car. No real need for a rental car in this stunning city.
