Hi there nice video, i enjoyed watching that. Ive literally just purchased almost looks like the same float today. I coudnt quite tell on the video the set up completely. Some instructions say you need put a number 6 shot 2 feet above the bomb or feeder ? I dont think yours had this so perhaps its not that important? So what hooklength did you use and was they anything else you needed put on the line?

I prefer to use a pellet waggler rod as it has a little extra for casting the feeder. Thanks for watching

I love fishing the drains for tench, bit ive never had a rudd like that! Wow. I usually start looking to have a go for an early tench on the drains about the end of January/early February, but today in mid Jan I'm working indoors and ive got no food intention of going out in this. A nice mild spell on the other hand could bring them on.🤞

Good to see a centrepin in action. Not really much to go wrong with a centrepin the only possible downside with wood being weight, which might be more of an issue if holding the rod for a lengthy period while trotting a river, for example. It’ll be interesting to see how you get on - cue next video. Bob 👍

    • @thecambridgeshireangler7168

I hooked a tench on the pole on the Middle Level which ran a huge distance down stream and scrapped like mad. As he got closer I noticed that he appeared to be coming in sideways. I hoped and preyed he had just wrapped himself up, but as I netted him I could clearly see the hook in a pelvic fin. At 5lb on the nose he would have been a pb pole caught tench for me, but alas not to be. Cracking male tench though. On the middle level and lower Ouse flow tends to switch the fish on and when the flow stops the fish after stop to. Lovely tench. Well done.
