Will this work in Solaris/Karma?
Yes it supports material x and the stage context 😊
@@FabianStrube Awesome. Thanks!
I really like your videos, I have learned a lot!! Bro, a question Is there any chance you can make a tutorial on how to bring a fluid simulation along with textures to Unreal Engine? I've searched for days and days on the internet and I haven't found something that would work for me, it would be great if you could make one.
This is perfect ! Thanks for this much needed tool !
Great, Fabian!
Fantastic tutorial! I've learned a TON. Quick question: In the point deform/transform_softbodies section, when I try CopyToPoints, the rotation of the pancakes isn't being copied and they're all aligned vertically. I've tried bringing the rotation downstream, but nothing seems to fix it.
How to use Substance Painter 3D UDIM textures in Maya?
In the toolbar is a udim icon. Toggle it on before creating the Material
@@FabianStrube I activate it but it still does not create the UDIM textures of Subtance Painte 3d correctly, would you have a video tutorial?
Thank )
I'm sorry, but I found at least 4 C4D tutorials that made dynamic bunches of balloons and the all took from 7 to 15 minutes to do from scratch This took 36 minutes and it was already built. I really regret getting Houdini this year and want to go back to C4D, especially with its new powerful particle system.
With the latest update, to install houdini using the .bat file please select the houdini packages folder instead of the shelf folder
@FabianStrube hi i have just purchase the tool for houdini i am using houdini 19.5 .805 - py3.7 i did he same thing you did in video ,but FS tool shelf is not showinng and in mat context also the tool is no coming please help me with tthis.
Superb work, it's really good. I have one suggestion, if I may. At the end, the particles pile up together at the bottom. It would be great if there's a way for the particles to slip off the geometry and mimic a drip.
hey I have some problems when I install it ,I cant install it correctly in Houdini can you help me?
Hey thanks for reaching out. You can manually install it. In the umb folder is a util subfolder. Inside copy the umb.json I to your documents/houdini20.0/packages folder. Go inside the json file and replace the path path/to/umb/plugin with the path to the umb/hou folder. Save the json file and it should work. This is basically what the bat file should do.

Hi Fabian, any chance this work for maya 2025? Thanks in advance, amazing tool, have been using it since first introduce!
Hey 👋 Cool to hear that you've been using it for quite some time. I just released an update to add maya 2025 support and also fixed a few bugs!
@@FabianStrube awesome!!
Is this houdini
Some parts are houdini and some are maya
Looks very nice! Any chance for export/import shaders? For Maya and Redshift, I still haven't found a good shader library manager. Back in the day there was SLIB but that development has stopped unfortunately.
Thanks! slib has been great. Not to much libraries out there for Maya currently but yes, inside kiosk you can create a new "material" category and save your materials as a Maya Binary or Maya ASCII to a directory on your disk and scan that folder. By assigning the kiosk_assign_material function to the category you now can assign materials from your kiosk-library directly to your objects in Maya.😊
Hi hi! Everything works well for me until I do the vellum sim on the leaves. They just jitter like crazy even without any force
brother hard time hearing anything
I wonder if I can add on USD file storage?
Great help, learned a lot; Thanks!
the video is mono sound which kinda unpleasant for hearing from earphone
Thanks for letting me know! Will try to fix it in the next videos :)
I wonder if it's possible to add a USD interface?
Thanks for your comment! Do you mean to see USD structures in hierarchy form or a viewer? It is possible to add usd files to the library and would love to add some further features to make the USD format more accessible in kiosk
@@FabianStrube Thank you for your reply, what I want is to add the MTLX USD file to the library, so that it will be convenient for UE and houdini to call!
The NN & NP examples are the best I've seen explained in such a short time. Cheers man
Through breakdown . Thanks for the clear demonstration of the node graph
Do you have a tutorial for this?
Do you have any tutorial for this?
I'm watching an intermediate tutorial for FLIP simulations and couldn't fully understand the Point Cloud functions (used in the VOP). Your video was enlightening. Not only did I really understand what these functions do, but I also think that the VEX is much more direct and clear than the VOP. I will definitely watch your videos.
what you said about vex vs vops is so true, i use vops only for different noises as its much quicker to setup there, almost everything else is much quicker and simpler to understand at glance with vex
Bro did u hand animate each piece ?
Yes! 🙂
It’s like blender kit ❤❤❤❤
Masterpiece
beautiful :D Share some of that knowledge with us :D
Very impressive. Did you use scans or were the meshes modelled from scratch?
Nice!
Extremely helpful tips/guide! Thanks heaps for making this Fabian!
all I can hear is music, barely hear what you're saying
It's basically just a cut down of all the following lessons. I figured out to late that it's confusing 😕
Hi Fabian, would you know how the install process varies for Mac? I'd love to be able to use this tool on both my Mac and PC if possible! Just purchased and I'm looking forward to working with it.

I was not sure how to delete all of the leaves except one. I just deleted them by selecting one and deleting the rest but I am not sure what the connectivity node does. Second question: how is the number of leaves reduced in the for loop?
Great technique! I did also had some issues with the Attribute Wrangle node before the fuse node. I had some misspelling issues but I had to increase the fuse snap distance to over 1 and that is the only way I got it to work but it works fine. I think my tree is larger; 25 meters and maybe that had something to do with it and only created 3 branch levels beside the trunk from 0-3
Looks very promising, very pleasent and clean aesthetic. Love the ability to assign custom commands. When it comes to usability and overall folder management and setup, I would take a look at Connecter which in my opinion is structured very well. It has the folder tree on the left and the macro-category at the top (materials, shaders, assets..). This in my opinion is a cleaner approach, faster and more scalable for people with big libraries. Also batch thumbnail generation for assets and shaders is absolutely a musthave. For a quality all in one content browser I would gladly spend money (100-200$).
Hey! Love you input on kiosk. I like the idea of having an optional folder tree on the left side. I plan to offer some additional tools to create 3d asset thumbnails and make them available via the menubar. Thanks as well for your input on the pricing. My plan is to offer a free license with limited entries and no customization for testing and students, as well as a commercial license with no limitations.
Really interesting tool, will be also available on Linux? If so consider me interested to partecipate to the close beta. Cheers, Massimo
Hi Massimo! Thank you for your interest. It will be avaiable on Windows first, but I plan to add Linux support in the future and will definitly get back to you with an early version of it!

This is supercool! I'm in the middle of switching to Karma xpu/Materialx and trying to figure out what to do about organization.
So great tutorial. I love slowmo guys videos of all their Phantom footage and this is super great for water vfx !
¿How can I se the code result in console?
Just in case anyone else stumbles upon this, if you set the display flag to the attribute wrangle node, the console will pop up :)
Thank you so much. This is what I need
so vague and no description for what you're doing makes great for a confusing tutorial!
Very nice how did you build this tool please do a tutorial on the making off did you use Py QT for this ? thanks.
Amazing plugin! Just got 90 materials set up in minutes. Any chance you plan to support Octane for Houdini as well? And also, would be nice, if we could drag multiple material textures at once, and it could identify the name for the material automatically, so if all of the 90 mats are in the same folder, it will take everything before the channel name and make it a name of the material. Even if it was an option for just single material creation, auto name, could save a lot of clicks :)
As a beginner I dont understand a single thing, no VEX, no assigning, no attributes, no modelling, no simulation, its so confusing. Been trying to learn Houdini for one year as a Cinema 4D and Autodesk artist.
Amazing tutorial, learned a ton, TY!
