Mohammad Ali Jinnah, founder of Pakistan, fondly called Quaid-e-Azam died on 11 September 1948. He had been sick for a long time but it was kept a secret by his doctors. However, around April - May 1948 his health began to wane and by August 1948 it began to deteriorate rapidly notwithstanding many doctors attending upon him.
It was decided to shift him to Karachi. The flight from Quetta to Karachi on 11 September 1948 took 2 hours.
Then, he was shifted to an ambulance which however broke down on the way to the Governor-General House and the hospitals around. Therefore it took 2 hours to finally reach the Governor-General House but by that time Jinnah has expired.
Not surprisingly, conspiracy theories have been spun around his death suggesting that his death was planned as a murder.
