It has been a while since I did a video...things are just getting pretty busy here on the farm so I am just forgetting to push the video button but I am sure glad I finally remembered yesterday! We had gone to spell with practitioner on Monday evening and Mark did great with spelling out some complete sentences. So...I started thinking that we should get back to doing that and he did amazing! F...

Congrats on the new barn. It's beautiful. I too will be in the market for one soon. I think I will use it primarily for storing my tractor and other farm equipment. Thanks for sharing!!
Love their cute little sounds.
Nice job saving the coins

I actually let my gander bite me the other day to see how bad it would be and it actually didn't hurt. His childrens love kisses hurts more lol. Though they seem to always find the most sensitive spots to *groom* you when it is done lovingly and not aggressively!
Scratch that, those had been warning bites. I was trying to separate a young goose (his daughter) from him and the goose's mom and he didn't like that and went on the attack. I didn't think he would bite hard and so he was able to get a hold on my arm and he wouldn't let go. Had to stick my thumb in his beak to pry it off me and then held it closed until I thought he got the point. Nope he went after me still and bone bruised my ankle at some point. Then he got hold of my pants leg and I just had to end it at that point. Grabbed him where neck meets head and drug him back into his coop so he could sit in there alone and think about what he did. Usually he backs off after a minute, that's why I am so lenient in his attempts to injure me typically. Bruise on my arm in bigger than a 50 cent piece! His daughter is only 4 months old yet keeps trying to choose him as a future mate. He even tries to force himself on her and I have to intervene. Why they are kept separate!
Allways love seeing this videos great job!
Awesome job mark!
looks like a Great Horned Owl.
Yes! There are a couple that live at the neighbors because the dogs bark at them if they come over onto our property!
I saw your video of Mark saying "more cake". Does Mark speak?
Sorry for the late response...yes, Mark is "minimally speaking"...he has memorized certain phrases and will repeat them. He can technically say anything...I could say, Mark, say Happy Birthday and he can repeat me but his pronunciation is not always really good. There are certain letters that he just cannot say correctly. Some of his favorite phrases are "Farmers Market" "Cheetos" "Pizza" "Bike ride" "Egg delivery"...
@@MarkandDeniseWetzel what else?
@@noahwalling2928 It just kind of depends on the situation and what he is wanting...mostly he is requesting food! He likes to go to the Farmers Market because he gets a cookie there!
@@MarkandDeniseWetzel He’s a junk food junkie
@@noahwalling2928 Yes, he loves junk food but also loves to eat scrambled eggs, applesauce, and cheese!
My pairs eggs that I hatched out 3 weeks ago and so soft, cuddly, and just wonderful. They are way more snuggly than their parents were. I mean, don't get me wrong, parents were snuggly in they would lay next to me and nibble on me as goslings. But it really is different when they are hatched by you. Lets see if their first breeding season results in nicer ganders xD I think I have 2 male, 1 female. It would have been great if it was 2 female and 1 male (though they're siblings, so I wouldn't hatch any eggs by them) because then I could keep all three together. I think I will have to stick the female in with her parents so her brothers don't end up fighting over her. Ugh, goose logistics. Tbh, I was going to sell them on craigslist. But once I hatched them out, I couldn't let them go! I'll just sell fertile goose eggs rather than hatched goslings... my heart can't take it lol. I wish I could let my geese free roam too. They go up to my moms house (nextdoor) and terrorize her (since breeding season anyways) and peck on her window. Can't get them to stay home so I had to put up a fence. Now my gander gets out and sits on my back porch and poops all over it while watching his lady love not knowing (or wanting) to leave the fenced in area. Constantly have to grab a stick and chase him back in lol.
That was my main worry about letting the geese free roam...didn't want them to come up on the deck/porch and poop everywhere...I made their fenced in area bigger and they are staying in their "area" better now!
@@MarkandDeniseWetzel Yeah, I hope my parent geese forget the path to my moms house xD

Yuki is so gosh darn cute.
He is growing up so fast!!!
We love Yoki
Yes! He is adorable! So glad we got him although he took the bag of woods chips for the smoker the other day and spread them out everywhere so I had to go to the store and get more chips to smoke our ribs for Memorial Day!
Hi youki!
Hi!!!
I'm not letting my geese hatch eggs either on their own either (One: because of egg size like you mentioned, two: because I REALLY don't want a new hatchling being around level of aggressiveness in my Gander when he is bad enough with just the nest watch). I am however incubating the eggs, that way I am there to assist if needed and give them the best chance they can have. Two internally pipped on thursday, then externally pipped mid-day yesterday (friday) and now I am just waiting for them to hatch. They haven't made much progress since pipping externally, but they pipped externally on day 27 when earliest they should hatch is day 28, so not too concerned, they probably just aren't fully ready. Keeping my eye on them since I don't want to assist them if I don't have to and risk hitting a vein, definitely tricky business. They sound strong as they talk to me through their eggshells and I can hear the other two (had 4 incubating) scraping their beaks against the shell now.
That is SO cool! Good luck! I am also having concerns about the gander for next year! This is our first time having geese and I knew they would be aggressive but he is really over the top!!!
@@MarkandDeniseWetzel Yeah, I don't let mine see me take eggs because I am worried he might get THAT bad lol! I have a large kennel area the female likes to go into if I leave the door in open (their pen connects to it), so all I have to do is go over and close them in and raid their coop for eggs.
@@magstrid4295 Sounds like a great set up!
All I have is me and my stick. My gander almost won the other day. Plus, $5-$10 a goose egg in my area if they are fertile. $2 is the non fertile goose egg eating cost.
I understand completely! LOL!
Love the video and puppy!
