Thanks for the excellent video. I'd like to use this as an example to show Sky Sports on how to use a PIP. Obviously there isn't anyone with half a brain in that organization that knows HOW TO FOLLOW THE ACTION ??? They think we want to see shots of "NAMELESS STRANGERS and BACKS OF HEADS WITH HEADPHONES and MECHANICS WATCHING TV and other MINDLESS FULL SCREEN CUTAWAY SHOTS, while there is actual racing going on on the track ??? Why not insert those brainless shots using a PIP like you did . This way they can keep all the action on the screen at FULL SCREEN for most of the race. Sky Sports will never do this but you did a good job along with the telemetry. Thanks again and bouna fortuna.

I don’t see how it would begin to be competitive with a real GT40. Shelby and Ken Miles helped develop the 427FE engined GT40. The GT40 had the same engine, It weighed about the same, and was extremely aerodynamic. The non aerodynamic Cobra hit a brick wall at 140MPH according to Miles/Shelby.

And I thought my Factory Five at the "2nd and 3rd gear autocross" was brutal!

Damn, he is DRIVING that car. Those steering inputs are crazy - and the wind noise, no windshield to speak of!

Yet the AC cobra at tracks with longer straights was not competitive with the close top Ferraris. Hence the reason for designing the Daytona Cobra. The real explanation of the Cobra being faster than the GT 40 maybe the track suits the cobra more or the driver in the GT 40 was not as skilled as the cobra or a combination of both. Equally skilled drivers at Lemans the GT40 would win hands down over the AC Cobra.

Owning one, this is a great portrayal of what they are like on the track, as they say, racing a Cobra is like dancing with a chainsaw! Really cool clip.

Watching after seeing the Goodwood clip of the same. Only thing that could have made this visual feast better, was if that second angle was looking back at those GT-40's! :) That noise from the Big Block, it's something special!

that had some real power in the engine to be running in 3rd gear as much as he did, love manuals so easy and dependable to use, not good in stop and go traffic but as someone who also drive manual big rigs it was nothing for me had 4 aerostars that were all manual and never got stuck in the snow with them.

Is he running the short stroke 383 MEL or the 430 MEL? If it's an FE it would have had to have been the 352, I think, because the hi-po 390 wasn't introduced until 1960 and the standard 390 Thunderbird engine wasn't introduced until 1961.

I don't think he really needs 4th gear.

Extremely difficult car to drive under racing conditions. You have to be a monster to be able to control this vehicle's acceleration out of turns, and heavy braking into the corners.....then you have to have balls of steel to push the car to 100mph on the straight and do it all over again. This car will push you around if you aren't feathering the gas and I'm sure he has to be trailbraking in and out of some of those turns....if not, this car has been tuned and setup very very well.
