Haha yeah, that was just a weird situation. I ended up skipping the turn because I was too lazy to turn around, move back and turn around again :D
This is one of the best missions ever. It was so much fun, but the problem was i think i captured all the towers too quickly without exploring all the map. Feel kinda missing out 😂
Haha yeah, the maps can get stressful and sketchy sometimes. One thing I'm finding is, be as aggressive as you can and be as efficient in battles at the start of the map as you can. If you give the AI too much time, they will build up a huge army and be impossible to take on cos they just have massive buffs that make them hard to kill even if their army looks manageable on paper :P
@stooge_gaming Totally agree with you. The frog wielder beat the hek out of one of my troops. Because I transferred all of my manpower into the main wielder, the rat guy, and left the other two with low budget skeleton but enough to beat some random wolfs and gather loots. So the frogs fully loaded with strong Turtle killed me in 2 seconds bro. And they even got one of my tower, so I need to backtracking my main rat character to finish this rana dude off. Do you think it's good idea to transfer all the warrior to one guy or to distribute your troop equally? (And sorry, English isn't my first language. Please don't kill me)
@@pateto_21 Your English is perfectly fine. Don't worry too much about that! :) I think it's good to have a stronger army on the wielder that you feel is your strongest. I personally wouldn't go all in on your main wielder, especially if you are under attack from more than one enemy wielder. In campaigns, usually only one wielder can't lose a fight, the rest can lose fights with no real penalty other than losing their troops and you losing the use of that wielder for 5 or 6 turns if you don't want to pay to get them back early. If you come up against a big enemy you can sacrifice your other wielders to kill some of the enemy troops to make the enemy more manageable for your main wielder. I've done that a few times to use my spells from my other wielders to weaken the enemy in a suicide mission and then my main wielder cleans up. In that situation, you would need to have troops on your sacrifice wielders otherwise you wouldn't have the essence generation to do enough damage. In that sense, you can't transfer every troop you have to your strongest wielder.

Haha nice! It's always hard when you go into a mission for the first time blind! Finding the right balance of pushing further into the map without having too weak an army is especially tough when you don't know how the map plays! Good luck with the mission! :D

I'll try to see if I can help. What are you having trouble with? Generally speaking, I find it easier to let the enemies move towards my army in battle and either buff up my troops or bombard them with damaging spells.
@stooge_gaming when I leveled up my main frog to around Lv.20. I was hit with the Banya weider. I thought I could fight them off with my drangons, but heck no. They shot down my dragon like ant using big canons. Bro I have no idea how can I win against these foe lol
@@pateto_21 Ah ok fair enough. I find dragons to be kind of fragile if you use them like a charging front line unit. If possible, the best bet is to try and shut down the cannons with spells to get your dragons straight across the battlefield but that can be dangerous cos their other troops can take them down really easily in melee. If you have initiative and enough essence to cloud their vision that can help. The other thing is to set up so your armies so they aren't quite so bunched together or at least your most important troops aren't so bunched together so the aoe attack isn't so painful. Other than that you might just have to have a big enough army to tank the initial barrage and either close the gap while they are reloading or use spells to shut them down by outright killing them. Hopefully that helps. I'm only playing on worthy difficulty though so if you are playing on overwhelming, I'm not sure I have the experience to help you out :D

Probably gonna try to camp at home and build towers to defend, too, if I can't fight them head-on. Again, thank you for your strategy. I appreciated your insights. Hope I survive bro 🙏
@@pateto_21 No problem, the dragons are nice especially the splash attack, I just find that you have to use them like an assassin unit rather than a big smash your face in unit. The other thing you can try is to get burrowers so that you can burrow and cross the map immediately with a unit. You will still have to eat the initial barrage but with enough burrowers you can engage them in melee and deny them range attacks after the first round. Dragons also have 2 range melee attacks so if you want to avoid taking retaliation from enemies, you can leave one hex between you and the target so that they can't retaliate your melee attack. Alternatively, you can abuse the 2 range melee attack to hit 2 or 3 units next to each other. It just takes a bit of experience to use dragons efficiently. One thing to remember is that now that you've played the mission out a bit, you can restart the mission with what you've learnt so you can optimise your early turns on the mission to get yourself in a better position to take on the enemies when you finally encounter them. I also wanted to congratulate the folks over at Lavapotion on the 1.0 release of Songs of Conquest. The game really hits the nostalgia of Heroes 3 while making great improvements to all aspects of the genre.
Hey guys, just wanted to say thanks for watching the early access videos. We got through this last run and the save bug didn't strike so it looks like it's been fixed which is great news for full release. The game releases at a weird time for me so we'll see how that goes as far as initial video upload goes but I'm excited to finally play through the story campaigns. Catch you all then! :D
Hey guys, now that we're very close to the release date, I'll try to get this run done and all videos posted before the 20th. The devs have released another hotfix that should have fixed the save game bug so it's full steam ahead to get this run finished.
Really hope that nasty bug is gone for good now.
Yeah, I'm currently 41 turns into this run at the moment and haven't encountered the bug so far but apparently someone has encountered the bug after the hotfix was deployed, which is a real bummer. Devs were struggling to find people to send their save files or something but there's been a few of us that have got onto discord to give the devs some files to work with now so hopefully they can identify the bug and squash it now.
Hey guys, I ran into the save game bug again so I have to end the run here. This run was up in the air whether I would win or lose so it's a bummer to have to end it here. I'm thinking I'll try a random map next and see how that goes. Thanks for watching as always!

@@prosheene Apparently they found the issue and did a patch to fix it. The devs said they weren't able to replicate the bug so the fix is what they believe the problem is and their explanation sounds like they found the bug so we'll see. The game is really good so it deserves to have the best launch it can have!
If you're confused how risen work, it's just any of your human troops that die come back 1to1 as risen. Also to delete a stack of troops right click them. Sorry if it's too much backseeting, you just seem not ready for risen sometimes
Ah ok good to know. Yeah, I'm just confused as to how risen work. I'm used to Heroes 3 necromancy where any non undead and non construct type unit can spawn troops for your army. Any tips are always welcome!
You're not the only one suffering from that bug. Reports of it have started since the last patch. I know that they're at it but apparently it's not a simple fix and they don't really know what causes it yet.
Ah yeah fair enough, kinda sucks that this bug is a thing so close to release. Hope they can figure it out soon cos the game is pretty good overall. We'll see if it happens again on the next run. I'm glad that I got to a point where I had won so moving on was an easier decision :D
Hey, just wanted to give you guys a heads up because this will be the last episode of this Barya run. I ran into a bug where all the quicksaves, autosaves and hard saves have been stuck at turn 59 for some reason. I've gone in to play it a bit more and see if the game will save the game state correctly but it seems not. The game state preview shows the correct game state but when I load in, it loads up at turn 59 each time even though the playtime on the save file seems to be correct. I've reported the bug but I'm not sure what caused this so I decided to just finish up here because I think we basically have this one sewn up at this point. The next playthrough will be the Arleon redemption run and hopefully I'll do better the second time around. Cheers!

I haven't really felt comfortable for the last 20 turns or so leading up to the end of this episode but I think I managed to recover things so that I have a good shot at winning.
It's getting quite interesting now. Really looking forward to how it'll go from there.

You can holdt ctrl while moving troops around. This skips the extra dialogue where you can adjust the numbers and while just maximize the amount moved. Either all if you move in an empty slot or as many as possible if you move into a slot that is already partially filled with units of the same type.

Interesting how big the difference is in terms of speed. Whole playthrough in less than an hour! That was fun to watch.
