No they can't. That is false
We believe that all people are not only made in the image of God but are made in the image of LOVE. This includes our queer siblings. If you have questions or want to talk more, let us know.
Fabulous, faith full podcast. Thank you!
This is the only book keeping me attached to the church. more folks should read this book
Agreed. Black Liturgies is such a powerful, honest and prophetic book! Glad you enjoyed it.
Excited for season 8!!
Love Dusty the Doodle making an appearance :-)
Posted this 2 years ago and will post again - is there any chance this can be sold as an album? Has some incredible performances on it.
🎉🎉🎉 love to see it!
Thanks for tuning in!
You are a cursed!
Lesbian Pastor? What Koolaid are you guys drinking! Quit distorting the Gospel!
Travis, we believe everyone is made in the image of God and that LGBT people are just as called to ministry as anyone else. We believe that our queer siblings are a gift to us and have a lot to teach us about the nature of God. We are happy to talk with you more. Email us at info@TheCollectiveTable.org
@@TheCollectiveTable How is that born again, denying self and not identifying with their sexuality? That is not the Gospel. Your perspective is blatantly opposed to scripture.
@@travisfrench1981 again we disagree. If you would like to have a productive conversation, outside of online comments, we would welcome that conversation. Our email address is info@thecollectivetable.org
@@TheCollectiveTable There is no conversation to be had. I’m just here to fulfill the command of scripture to call out false teachers. Repent, and believe the Gospel. The Bible is very clear about homosexuality and how they will not inherit the Kingdom of God. 1st Corinthians 6 even state’s homosexuality as a past tense for the congregants; meaning that they have repented and turned away from that behavior. You can be same sex attracted, but to act on it, let alone identity with it. Blasphemy to say this is Biblical. Homosexuals were stoned to death in the Torah. YHWH does not affirm your homosexual lifestyle and beliefs. Quit leading people to hell!
Skin color has nothing to do with anything. Acknowledging race as part of your characteristics or behaviour is racist.
God
he dosent gods never changed anything or done anything for anyone because god dosent exist. never has despite what a bunch of nutjobs will tell you.
I say tax exempt and free education to college or trade schools.
Modern Christianity is a terrible thing that is used every day to persecute and oppress. So seeing some Christian’s actually follow the teachings of Jesus and not just use religion to hate others is surprising but welcome
This is probably my favorite Q&A that The Collective Table has done! My favorite parts were Brian's suggestions for helping young clergy and creating a welcoming place for all beliefs.
Thank you Catrina! This was one of our favorites too!
I’m a lil black kid from the Bronx just wanted to leave the comment to be random
Lmao what
This is awful. A degradation of gods word. You are not accepting the body god gave you
Hi Luke. We'd like to hear more from you about why you think that? Ms. Penny Cost is a celebration not a degradation. Please email us at Info@TheCollectiveTable.Org so we might continue this conversation.
@@TheCollectiveTable The Queen is the perfect antidote to bigoted, conservative "christians."
God is not within 100 miles of whatever you’re doing. He came to save us from our sin not let up play in it and be okay with that. I honestly encourage you to read a non-progressive bible so you can truly learn about who Jesus was and what God wants from our lives.
Hi Matthew. We’d love to talk with you more about your perspective. Contact us at info@thecollectivetable.org. Also what is a non-progressive Bible? We use the NIV, NRSV, and CEB translations for our study.
Not even than really, it’s your politics. Loving others and wanting them to get the gospel is the most important thing you can do. But if there isn’t a changing in them, if they keep living in sin. The whole book of Romans 6, and 2nd Corinthians 5 15-17. The LGBT community need saved, I honestly believe that’s just the sin their flesh is weak too just like how some can be alcoholics, others thief’s or whatever it maybe. But When saved yes you still have the temptation but you don’t pride yourself about what it was or that it’s okay God loves me and He understands. No God sent His son to died for our sins a horrible painful death, but out of love. Yes he makes intercession for in on the right hand of God in heaven for when we do sin again because we still carry this flesh but he never justified it. That’s why I say God isn’t within 100 miles of this work. Luke13: 24-30, just make sure this work is actually of God, because if it’s in vain and wrong it won’t mean anything. It would be awful to work all your life thinking it’s for the Glory of God then find out you weren’t saved you just thought you were. It’s by faith in Jesus alone.
I say all this to say, that there is a hell for those who die without accepting Jesus. There is only one way. Works won’t get you there, our righteousness is as filthy rages, Isaiah 64:6. It’s for those people who need Christ there is only on why and it’s by trusting and believing God sent him and he paid for our sins. It changes you.
@@matthewstone5507 Hi Matthew. You are correct. We have very different theologies. We would love to share with you more about how we view God, faith and religion in a more expansive way. However we do not want to continue posting on CZcams. If you are open to a conversation, please email us at Info@TheCollectiveTable.org.
This sounds like a woke cancer of a church .
Personally I think organized religion has a net negative impact on the world. But this is well made and you guys are clearly passionate, good luck and keep up the good work!
Thank you! We know that some organized religion can be harmful and toxic. We are working to be the antidote to that. We want to figure out what is helpful, life-giving, truthful and loving while in community!

ABSOLUTELY! <3
It depends, as a Christian you strive to run from it. God clearly forbids it in the Bible.
@@warlans6924 repent of your works of righteousness
@@warlans6924 Hi there. We would recommend revisiting some of those Scriptures and reading them with a historical contextual lens. Great resources for these are "God and the Gay Christian" by Michael Vines and "UnClobber" by Colby Martin.
@@TheCollectiveTable Okay, but before I do so, do you guys believe in the bible alone as the source of all doctrine and practices? Because if we both do, then we have a common ground.

Hi Cynthia. We're so glad you enjoyed it! Thanks for listening. Ms. Penny Cost truly is a gift!
Only thing great for Church is JESUS
Is there any chance this performance can be presented as an album?
Chelsea, your experience at the grocery store cracked me up. Amazing what exhaustion does to you. Loved the discussions between you and Dana.
Of course, you don't go into how "baptism" suddenly appeared with "John the Baptist." You veer away from that because you'd have to then understand the Jewish mikvah and now the Essenes took that to an extreme of several times daily. And sin to the Jew wasn't some "brokenness". No, sin was very simple. You intentionally or unintentionally didn't keep the commandments. For unintentional sins, there were the sacrifices. And for intentional sins, there were strict community-based penalties. But hey, "Jesus" was only a Jew who spoke...to Jews. If you're not going to bother understanding the context, then don't bother at all.
Hi Jenna. Thank you for your comment. One of values is to seek with curiosity. Unfortunately, so much is lost with online comments. Given that, we would love to have a follow-up conversation with you. Please email us at info@thecollectivetable.org. The Collective Table strives to provide accessible Christian content for those looking to make a shift to a more progressive perspective or those looking to dip their toe into Christianity .
