You do understand that to be able to have cognitive empathy, one must have emotional empathy,right? Whom has only cognitive empathy, is a learned behaviour. Psychopaths are very good at mimicking cognitive empathy, and are impulsive.

I feel people who dont ha emotional empathy are ave different type of people. Just as sociopaths are a different level too.
First person plural is a term used by those with Dissociative Identity Disorder, perhaps using it in this context is confusing…
I cant experience empathy. But my brain can recognize when someone needs help. Sometimes i just choose not to care. Its a cold world, and no one helped me. I do know not to sacrafice an innocent life for self gain, though.

As someone with zero built-in cognitive empathy and way too wired into emotional empathy, it can be very tiring at times. Not to mention I'm introverted and absorbs vibes like a sponge. Been trying to balance it for more than a decade but alas, our nature is simply our nature.
You need to force yourself to use your brain more. People will always take advantage of empaths, and empaths are seen as weak and exploitable in this world.
I feel sadness from anyone. If they're napping bored I feel sadness, if they're uncertain daydreaming I think it's sadness. I don't get it

The limitations of Goleman’s approach has to do with the myopic lens on ethics he presumes. EI also encompasses the very important quality of the ethics that underlie any business and it’s impacts. To apply EI competencies to an unethical, or racist, or self-absorbed (like in the financial industry) organization would contradict the entire premise of an emotionally intelligent world. Call it neurotic even. This is the only thing I haven’t heard Goleman address. Can someone point?
