4g15 carb engine, crankshaft pulley loosed. The sound is coming from the pulley area way down below to the crankshaft pulley. I fixed the problem following this video czcams.com/video/XDTot5kRAG0/video.html Although I didn't replaced the pulley, I just tightened it up. Hope this video will help you.

sorry for the late reply, it's actually converted to toyota 4k carb (less hassle and cheaper to buy / rebuild) - since the intake manifold is 2 holes, it can take the same carb from toyota. You just need to find a good spacer to fit for it. If you still need the info, let me know.
Question. How do you know that you selected the correct position of small disc. There were 4 hole guide for the smaller disc?

try plugging the thermostat bypass.
I been driving without t-stat (cut the center out of it out so it maintains restriction) for a few years now in a 2010 impala with zero problems. Only takes a few more minutes to warm up. Also did this on older 350’s on the farm with zero overheating issues.

Get a little poorer gas mileage, but it should run fine......not much in the way of passenger heat though.

Dashpot pertains to mechanical device, a damper which resists motion via viscous friction. In a carburetor, there could be several dashpots. It can be the autochoke, dashpot for secondary butterfly, etc. In a toyota 4k or 2E the dashpots are thermal control so that it will increase idle if the engine is cold, the auto-choke function, and the dashpot to open the secondary valve. The example in the video is indeed the vacuum advancer of a distributor. A single diaphram vacuum advancer. There's also the double diaphram advancer as well. True to what you say the ac idle up is also a dashpot that is ran by an actuator whenever the AC compressor is engage. The video is about the general test for all dashpots.
pare vacuum advancer yan hindi dashpot. isa lang and dashpot yung ang nag cocontrol ng menor ng ac.
