Replica Spitfire?
@Ade Nickison - apologies that this is four years later but I’m only seeing this now - we need more information. What is the story of this plane, the pilot, the squadron? Where is it now? Is it being restored somewhere? How the hell is it sitting in someone’s garden for so many years? Is it a replica? (hope not!). Best regards from the Giant’s Causeway coast of Northern Ireland. 😄👍☘️
I Hope it find a way in a real museum. Don't let IT happen that it fall appart. 😮
Wszstkich Polskich rzolnierzy ktorzy musieli zostać w uk po wojnie
Pozdrawiam wszystkich polskich lotników Waldi z Uk
Y’all need that to take your country back
Far out! 👍✈️
Cool af 😮
She’s was back home in Stoke on Trent where RJ Mitchell came from ..my hometown ..
Hey camera man, are you shure you don't have Shaking Hand Syndrom? You ruin the entire video, simply never keeping that thing stable. You shake, you move, you are dancing, no idea why. Most disturbing.
@@voornaam3191 I'm no Speilberg
I learned fly gliders at CFD Mountainview in southern Ontario in 1974 and one of the instructors was Capt. Aleksander Rokiticki. He was a Spit pilot in the 303. He was instrumental in setting up the gliding program for the Royal Canadian Air Cadet and trained so many cadets! I can still see him in my mind, flying the L19 Birddog towplane, I swear he thought he was back in the Spit! I learned of his passing a few years ago and I am sure he is up there soaring somewhere!
"How has it got Poland on it....." Fucks sake...
Does this guy have any idea what this plane is worth?
Did they ever explain how it got there and why it was in such good shape?
Polish insignias! Nice, that thing belongs in a hanger or museum 👍
It's a well known replica
Currently the going rate for an aircraft in this sort of condition, is roughly £2m. The merlin engine appears to be in situ, and who knows, the full interior with instruments might also be in tact. Fancy having a Spitfire in your garden, obviously the owner wasn't short of a few quid. On the other hand, if its a fibreglass replica, its a damn convincing one.
Stok on trent ? I have seen one just like this in Cornwall, and that prop clearly says it was recovered just off lizard point?????
Very cool that looks like it could fly again if somebody put the time and money in..
Indiana Jones quote that belongs in a museum or an air play hanger....
It’s a very good replica.
That Spitfire seems to be in good condition to be sitting in that cramped front yard. Someone got lucky to own it. Strange place for this classic vintage Aircraft.👍🇭🇲🦘🐨✌️
Yeah it is
Is it original or juz replica?
Not sure , there seems to be mixed opinions
Vice Grip Garage - Parked 70 years - will it drive 4500 miles home?
Most of the British pilots during the battle of Britain were virtually straight out od school and had a minimum of training. The Poles were properly trained fighter pilots who had already put up a fierce resistance in planes which could not match their enemy. They made the most of the new opportunity. The abandonment of Poland at the end of the war was a political and human disgrace. However Britain was exhausted, deep in debt and unable to challenge the Russian take-over, plus we had a socialist government immediately after the war. It would have been a disaster. It is worth remembering that the U.S. largely controlled us even then. They used the lease lend agreement to keep us poor and under the thumb, including pressure on our aircraft industry and making us the potential First Target during the cold war.
I worked in Mclouds Chemist shop in the Boulevard in the early 70s. Good days. ❤
WOW!! The Torch! That brings back memories! ❤
JUNE 2024 Just a beautiful sight to see, but the POLISH Squadron did a splendid contribution to the UK during WW2, just a shame our UK GOVERNMENT of the time, couldn't or didn't want to stop the Iron Curtain engulfing Poland though. 🇬🇧Ⓜ️🇬🇧😔😔😔😔😔

Wow! Hätte ich auch gerne in meinem Garten 👍
That Spit looks pretty intact. Any plans for it?
You just "found it"?
This is in Cornwall! Near St Mawgan airdrome 😊

The spitfire is not here anymore and it's not an original one it's a copy
Polish squadron claimed 126 kills in Battle of Britain..:)
This plane was used in a film called dark blue world about the polish pilots hence the markings the chap was called Barry who owned it along with various engines found in the sea ,he died a few years ago and the plane has since gone up country some where not sure where but it's ok
