Dog Days Wine Tour 50 mile ride
Went to Oberlin, Ohio to ride the Dog Days Wine Tour. They had a 30, 50, and 62 mile option. I did the 50 miler. All the rest stops were at wineries. There were 3 for the 50 and 4 for the 62. The wife picked up 6 bottles of wine and a 4 pack of cider. It was a fantastic ride through Oberlin and the surrounding countryside.

Kokosing Gap Trail ride in Knox County Ohio

It's been a few years since I rode the Kokosing Gap Trail. It's always been one of my favorite trails to ride. It passes through lots of farmland and has fantastic views of the Kokosing River. You made me LOL on your riding on St Rt 21 as that was like riding on a freeway! I am very familiar with this area and thanks for the video and LOL! I live about 4 miles from mile marker 19 of the Ohio and Erie trail. 1.5 miles from the Brecksville metro parks. It is all downhill (4miles)from my home as I live on the east side of the valley

love the trail bridges scenery, just wondering if music is really necessary for a nature trail video? to many people put music, it really detracts from teh video. do they just leave the horse poop on the trail? yuck, just so you know I love horses used to have them so I have nothing against horses on trail just wondering if buggy riders could at least pick it up and put in bucket handing on the buggy (the old fashion way they do so for parades)?
I’ve had a few people make the same comment about the music. I’ll give it a try and see how it goes. The poop stays. Fortunately there isn’t a lot of it. So it’s not a problem. Thanks for the comment!

Good luck in 2024, consider leaving out the music, I stopped watching the Ohio to Erie because of the music. Just a thought.
I don’t talk a lot in the videos so I use the music to fill in. Trying to get better at talking.

50+ miles of vehicular road riding? Nope - No thank you. I am plenty fit enough - could do this in 3 days - but until that 50+ miles of road riding is gone, I won't even consider it. (Don't be fooled by the rural roads - just as dangerous if not more - the good old boys hate bikers and basically anyone that is smart enough to excercise).
😂😂 I was riding a rural road around quitting time and they were definitely flying.

Great story. I wear a helmet 99% of the time but there are times that I won't, luckily haven't crashed yet. A good reminder that I gotta wear it always because that's when crashes happen.

It was definitely a shock to the system.
I have a crash story... I was riding on a shared walking/biking path... I always slow down when I see oncoming people, especially if it's a group with kids and/or dogs... Well I'm riding and a see a large family group with kids and dogs so i slow down and just as I'm about even with the group and a kid steps right in front of me. I did not have time to brake so a swerved. Well the path is right next to a 6 foot drop to a river. I go over the edge and into the trees which kept me out of the river. You know how it is when you crash, the 1st few minutes you are doing a self systems check to make sure nothing is broke, sprained, breeding or whatever. I was Ok so I look up, kind of expecting someone from that group might want to offer assistance, but NOPE they just kept walking. I get get back up on the path and they are 50 yards down the path and I yelled.. "it's OK I'm fine, thanks for the help!!!" They turn and looked at like it "WHAT?" No clue. Another rider did stop to see if I was OK but I was back on the path by then. Luckily myself and my bike were fine, just a few scratched on the paint and my legs. Anyway great story Cuz.
Oh man. I can't believe they would just leave you there like that. They had to have known. Crashing a bike makes a lot of noise.

I used a fan and ear plugs everynight on RAGBRAI. I bring a folding chair and used a charter. I'm 66 and it's a little easier when you get to the end of the day and they have cool drinks for you when you get there.
I like the chair idea. I did a lot of standing in camp. Definitely going to try and get a charter next time.
Denial is not a river in Egypt…train more. You’re 30 pounds overweight…human physiology operates under certain limitations and regulations and wishing it were different does nothing to change that.

Hi, I just found your channel. I really wanted to do RAGBRAI this year but was afraid that I could not make it. I have regretted that decision several time since then. But this was my first year of riding after several years of not riding. I hope to do it next year, and I hope the temperatures are not like this year. Being 61 and a solo rider I really doubt that I would have made it as far as you did this year. I admire your determination and it motivates me to try harder. And just maybe I will see you at RAGRAI 2024! Great job on riding and your videos.

Plan on bringing some batteries. If you’re unsupported it’s pretty difficult to charge. You’ve got literally 10k people trying to do the same thing. If you’re supported through one of the charter companies they may be able to charge your stuff. Pork Belly has a charger trailer. Good luck next year and thanks for watching!

Just remembered....I don't know the name of the vendor or how much it costs, but they will sell you one of their batteries at the beginning of the ride and each day they will exchange it for a fully charged battery. They were at one of the town stops everyday.
