This scene is completely unrealistic. Since, as this scene has it, the Queen said to them that its all right, and shook his hand, police would not have roughed up Fagan right in front of her. That's just something that isn't done. The Queen would have been distressed by the presence of Fagan, rough him up would increase her shock. Quite unrealistic she would have shook his hand. She never shook anybody's hand without gloves on, let alone an intruder. They may have talked but it is unlikely. He said they didn't.
