I heard they use a 440 steel for this model line rather then the 4116 they are known for. Despite not being a super steel their production quality is exceptionally high which I guess gives the best you can get from said steel. They also offer a lifetime warranty which is rare these days and offer a refurb service at cost, so you really do get a knife for life.

Cheap, or say inexpensive knives, aren't all terrible. For instance, I bought a SOG Fielder about fifteen years ago at Wal-Mart for less than $20.00. It's been a really good general purpose knife. It's a little heavy, but has a great harpoon blade and good lockup. I own many much more expensive knives, and each fits a niche or purpose. However more times than not this Fielder is my car or body EDC.

The steel used in the Victorinox knives for the blades are 1.4110 and for the tools AISI 420. They make knives in Damasteel as well which are usually the high end Limited Editions every year, they are usually around 400$ - 425$

Yes!!! As a woman, I understand the value of having boundaries even with the "people pleaser, nice guys" who are incapable of cutting people off and enforcing boundaries. The last thing I need is to be involved with a man who has dozens of toxic women (or people) swarming around in his life who are constantly involved in my life through him. A big part of emotional regulation is being able to make the difficult decision to walk away from toxic people, even when it makes those toxic people mad at you in order to protect both his peace and the peace of the loved ones close to him.
