Getting New Windows Installed
We had new windows installed on my parents house. We ended up going with Marvin fiberglass windows from a local installer.

Demolishing Old Brick Driveway Columns
Very nice job and video editing. What model and year is red car? Gary
It’s a 1972 Ford Galaxie
It looks so nice 👍
The manual says that a 3" flat surface, at a minimum, is required. It appears as though this would work fine if it's actually less than 3", as long as there's a gap on either side right?
The manual wants a 3” flat for the center guide width. I think it should be fine if the center guide hangs over the edge a little. I would just install it with the threshold as far to the outside as possible, this will give the center guide as much room as possible, but it connects to the threshold and can overhang inside the tub a little, if needed.
@@JoeMcCoskey Thanks Joe, I really appreciate your response. Thank you for this video - huge help.
Didnt even see where you put the jigsaw piece.
Looks amazing 👏 I'm looking for a close up on the middle is that concrete drilling into the ground? What is that piece called ? How deep is that? What hardware is that called please
Thank you, The hardware on the bottom is called a gate cane bolt. I made the concrete piece.
Not a very good video, didn't show us the hinges or the front of the gates, WTF??
Great benefit for growing thick beard is your face wrinkles double chin is covered. Every day when you shave your skin becomes very hard when you stop shaving skin becomes softer. When I used to shave my age looked older now I have grown thicker beard people judge my age far more younger than my actual age that’s because double chin and other lines are covered with thick beard
Does the paste come in a different color
You can buy color match caulking in different colors.
That's a really good job. Looks great. Would be so good to have a parts list and instructions to help someone who's never done a fence before. Everything is so darn expensive to pay. In SoCal they want $450 labor just to install two ceiling fans. Without running any switches. Crazy
The beard suits you brother, I’m on my 7th month currently and am seeing big changes now
Thank you! I needed this
What did you use on the outside of the gate as far as latch is concerned
The gate only opens from the inside.
Dont know if you mentioned it, but what was the size of this door?
It’s for a five-foot tub. So, I went with the 56-60 size on width. It measures a little under 60” tall. It looks like they sell 59.75” & 62”. Those sizes are close enough to be similar.
Crazy density, crazy steady growth. What a beard
would this plan work for a 20' gap?
It probably would. The gates are strong. Finding strong enough hinges is an issue. I would recommend using rod ends and brackets, to make your own heavy duty hinges.
😆 🤣 😂 😹 😆 Please show us a new picture
I lay brick for 40 year and that's the first time ever heard somebody charging $1,000 where I come from Best playing around $300 buck
The previous comment you are referring to, is the cost of materials. No one charged any labor on this.
Did the length of the door knob work or did you offset the depth so both ends met
I cut out the pickets around the door knob but the thickness of the 2x4 wood at 1.5” inches is about the same as a front door. So it worked out.
0:48 it’s so pretty how can you say big and ugly?
Thank you!!!
Can you instal a remote control opener to this type of gate?
You can. Search, swing gate opener.
Nice job brotha
What brands name adhesives should be use for this type of shelves?
I used SikaBond, it takes a while to set. Other good options would be Loctite Power Grab and Gorilla construction adhesive. You can also get the other two in clear variants. If you use a non-clear construction adhesive, you could around it after it dries with color matching caulk.
👍🙏
i appreciate your service , i need to start making videos as well.
Thank you for this video. Any idea on how long it "should" take to install?
I would say around three hours
What’s type of lumber did you use?
I believe I used pressure treated Hem-Fir lumber
Hey great video! Love the process and thorough explanation. I have a similar gate built a few years ago and it's leaning a bit these days due to the weight. I've added a gate wheel for support, I'm curious if yours is still holding up fine since you created this video ?... Also are you located in WA state? The houses look very similar to mine. Cheers!
Thanks, The gate is holding up but I ended up making my own beefy hinges and replaced the original hinges. I am in Washington.
What kind of gate hardware. Link? @JoeMcCoskey
I don’t have a link but I used gate hinges from Lowes or Home Depot. A door handle for interior doors. The latch is also from Lowes or Home Depot.
Just a quick tip. If you can't get the drums out hit it on the side with a hammer. It's a lot easier than hitting it on the back. Great video 💪
thanks im removing an old brick mailbox that looks similar and wasnt sure where to start. we'll see if the center is filled like yours
Gates look good. But I have never heard a more confusing explanation of tension versus compression bracing.
Where the link to the hinges?
Thanks for the video! How long did it take to complete the project? Can you paint the cap?
I spent two days demolishing the old columns and two days building the new columns. It would probably be best to buy a cap in the desired color. They can add color to the concrete mix when making the caps. I’m not sure if they offered that option at the time or if I ordered what they had. If you use concrete paint (paint marketed to be used on concrete) then it is something that can be done. Thank You
How the fuck you make a video and don’t say what size nuts are that’s the whole fucking point of watching the video
Looked way better puffy!
Thx for the video!
I just installed mine today. 85"H on a shower, no tub. The factory instructions are arleight, but you still need to use your nugget and common sense as they are not perfect. Kohler says to install the bottom threshold 1/8" away from the front edge. While it might work in some situations, it didn't in mine as I would end up with the mounting screws in the literal edge of the drywall of the side walls. I used the bottom threshold with the door guide to position the assembly in the middle so that the edge supports were being secured to the studs. That being said, everything else went really smoothly. Big shout out to my 16-years-old son Max for landing his muscle with the very heavy glass panes.
Looked like it had sagged by the time you fixed the pickets on
Does that work in winter climates where ground is frozen
As long as it drains / doesn’t have standing water that would freeze, it would work.
Should have continued the lower brace up to the top corner mate.
Nice looking sturdy gate. Well done.
Next time: treat the wood with oil or grease for mold release and if you can, make it with a slight taper narrow end deep in wide end at the top.
What type of waterproof construction adhesive did you use? Still holding well? Thanks for the video!
I used SikaBond construction adhesive. I don’t think much water is getting past the grout and caulking I used and I don’t really know what’s going on behind the tile but I believe it’s holding up well.
Thank you!
Would it work on textured tiles?
Do you have a link to the shelves you used? Looks like a nice solution.
@@fes7067These are sold at Floor & Decor, and Lowes. Floor & Décor calls them a square edge corner shelf. Lowes calls them a Summerset corner shelf. It looks like Floor & Décor and Lowes offer different colors.
Only problem is you opening the gates. No room to swing doors!
Amazing beard dude!
what are the two pieces on top of the t joints in the final shot? Mini expansion tanks? Copper pressure relief valves?
They are hammer arrestors. They absorb the shock of the water suddenly stopping, when the water is turned off.
Great moustache too!
thnku, great video
Time for a beard video?
Yeah grew very well but how did you menage to grow every color of hair known to men 🤣 Looks cool
