Animatic | Ready as I'll Ever Be | Tales of Graces

What's this? Something not Steven Universe from me? Shocking!
I've been really getting back into the Tales of series as of late, but Graces has recaptured my attention. Specifically because I rewatched a lot of the skits from the game recently. And because of that, I realized that this song fits *perfectly* with one part of Graces. So... here's an animatic.
Maybe someday, if I ever progress more with honing my animation skills, I'll try and turn this into a full fledged animation. But for now, this is good enough for me. It's fairly rough, as this is my first animatic, but I'm really happy with how it turned out!
I know Malik actually wasn't a part of the party officially for this part of the actual game, but someone had to fill King Frederic's role and he was best suited for it. Cheria was also the best fit for Queen Ariana's role simply because she's the voice of reason for the party a lot of the time. Cassandra's role was where I got stuck for a bit before deciding that, since I couldn't justify Hubert being with the party at this point in the timeline, Asbel was best suited for the role. And Sophie was just a natural choice for Rapunzel, as was Richard the natural choice for Varian.

I've had this idea loosely bouncing around in my head for a fair while now. Mostly the idea for a time was just 'Oh, the Steven Universe Movie reminded me of Magical Mystery Cure.' And that was about it. But today I finally sat down and actually brought the vision to life. And I'm pretty happy with the results.
