Just two very happy, silly, 50 something paddlers, documenting and sharing our paddling journey. We started ww kayaking in April 2021 and have been addicted ever since. We mostly paddle grade 2-3+ around north Wales. Enjoying our paddling and having a laugh is the most important thing for us on the water 🙂.

Hi Josh, thanks for watching! Don’t want to give you a usless answer, however, it very much depends on what type of paddling you do and where you are based (thinking weather / temperature etc). Kayak / canoe clubs are always a great place to get info, but you can’t beat going to your local kayak shop and talking to them about your needs and budget. Hope that helps!

I slalomed serpents tail and the falls in the 90s.
The Dee is our local river. A lot of people knock it but there's always fun to be had, whatever the level!

Wish I had seen a few American style WW open canoe, OC-1. I would have had a blast on that river in my OC-1, roll and all. Great fun all around.

Dee has stayed big this winter... ..thoughts on whether there will be trees to clear and how well the salmon spawned upstream. I shall find out in April at Chirk and Argoed Safe paddling from a salmon angler Simon Artley Manchester
