Help support your child with the FUN Summer Reading Adventure, by getting your child signed up for the Summer Stars Reading Adventure in your local library this summer.
What does this free Summer Reading Adventure do for my child?
Through signing up to the adventure, your child if not a member already will become a library member and get their own library card, invited to join free events, experience and participate in lots of fun activities, be part of a local and national adventure and gain access to lots of lovely nonfiction and fiction children’s books.
Prepares and supports children getting back to the classroom in the autumn.
Boosts children’s confidence and self-esteem by supporting independent reading and paired reading.
Library staff will be visiting schools and talking to teachers over the next few weeks. If you are a teacher or home school your child, get in touch with your local library, we would love to hear from you.
The Reading Adventure runs from 17 June to 31 August 2024 in your library. Ask a member of staff or see their Facebook page for more information.

The library supports children and young people, and their families by providing free programme and events for free throughout the year.
Summer Stars is the public library national summer reading programme for children that runs from the start of June until the end of August. All children throughout the country are invited to join the adventure and to enjoy the fun and pleasure of reading and writing over the summer. Summer Stars is non-competitive and every child who reads even one book/e-book is regarded as having completed the programme - and it’s all completely free!
Wexford Library Service has been running this programme for many years and each year it is getting bigger and bigger. Get your child to join up to this wonderful free programme and shine like the star that they are.
