Yep. Been around close many years and also middleton. I grew up just east of Pocahontas over county line but were still on Pocahontas mail.

Who knows, this MIGHT NOT BE the last (Used To Be) Big Hill Pond Episode after all that's happened and again thanks TN for such unprofessional crap. I don't believe a TN employee will ever be brave enough to speak about this subject within the media on camera like I do. I look at the positive sides but don't want to believe anyone will. Our (Used To Be) or our (Once Was) state park that (IS NOT) a park for us to enjoy anymore. Tennessee (Used To Have) a state park system but not anymore. We are now paying crooks to work now days in our AGAIN (USED TO BE PARKS). Their daily jobs is some ridiculous crap as always.

But, my father is from this area. I don't live too very far away from there now. "Walking Tall". I remember my dad saying there was much more to that story than the movie portrayed.
@theIAMofME The park wouldn’t be what it is today if it wasn’t for my grandad and his crew. That is a part of history that should be told. Yes they were assigned to build things at the park but all the ideas came from him. You know how government works or at least around here it does, “it’s all in who you know”. That is so sad because so many people have contributed to many things over the years and have gotten no respect or recognition. As far as “Walking Tall” I think we suspect there is more to the story. They recently dug up Pussers wife, it will be interesting to find out the real reason why.

I too agree that your father should be given recognition for his long history of visionary work that has made the Big Hill Pond Park the place it is today. I cannot help but think that the governor of Tennessee would want to know this and see that a lasting memory of the work this great man rendered to the Park, the local community and to the State of Tennessee is properly recognized. As for verification of his employment with the State it is a matter of record, a cinch for the governor to search out if needed. Know that the Great I AM the Lord of his Church knows all things and not one detail escapes him. He knows the number of hairs on your head; and knows the sweat and labor rendered by your father making the infrastructures, the observation tower, the trails and walkways. It was the Lord that gave him the ideas, the talent and know-how and drive to bring it all to completion. God Knows and thanks to you we who watch now know too. God Bless you and lift you and cause his face to shine upon you and give you a joy that passes all human understanding!
@michaeldickerson873 I may consider turning it in to the governors office. I think he shows up at some dedications as I know that are completed. This is the only time to my knowledge to be refused. I've heard things as such has to be voted on in the house. It was refused before even reaching the house.
