    I like the way you treat your truck taking your time and not getting everything wound up so tight. You have a caring professional approach .Here in Missouri we have grain trucks that just have to gear down with loud exhaust brakes, make a big show, and let us all know how big of a man they are. They ruin the quality of living in many small towns and seem to get off on it.

    Coming in after hauling crusher run on a road with an R/S aluminum trailer and it started snowing on us before we got back to the concrete plant to park so we were going to leave everything on this side of the hill instead of trying it down the back side. I was in the old RD and easing along in 2nd or 3rd in the 12-speed, NO problem when I looked in my mirror and the trailer was sideways across the road beside me. I had felt NOTHING but there it was. I eased down on the trailer brakes and it straightened back up and did just fine. The road had probably 3 or 4 inches of wet snow on it so that's why we were easing but that sure got my attention. No Jake of course. No brakes either. Glad everything turned out fine for you too. Winter is sure interesting. God Bless!

  • @lewiemcneely9143
    @lewiemcneely9143 Před rokem

    You did a fine job coming off that grade. Good to hear someone that can and does grab some gears and let the Jake do the work instead of baking brakes. I had an ex-bull hauler buddy tell me that IF I ever ran up on a grade like that I had ONE GOOD CHANCE to get it in a low enough gear to make it. I could always speed up. I'm in the middle of the Blue Ridge and used to mountain driving but the grades aren't that long but steeper. When the sign says steep, don't blink and miss it. Keep on petting that Kitty! I ran a 3406B in an old Pete that was plumb scary but had been petted beforehand. Blessings

      @@nickw900l Most of my hauling was on the longest road in the state, good old scenic 64. It's said to go from Murphy yo Manteo but really from Tennessee to the Sea. I lived in Murphy for a while and hauled crushed limestone for concrete out of Cleveland Tennessee and river sand out of Cleveland Georgia so I had either Ocoee Gorge or Blood Mountain to deal with but I was raised two hours east of Murphy on 64 so those were better roads than here. We have some long grades dropping off into South Carolina but not that long but long enough, and trails off down the bluffs where some didn't make it. And I love the Kitty motors and have looked at bulldog butts all my life! And the people that say a Jake don't work on a Cat don't know what a gear stick is! Be Blessed, Pal!

    Coning is a rate-sensitive phenomenon generally associated with high producing rates. Strictly a near-wellbore phenomenon, it only develops once the pressure forces drawing fluids toward the wellbore overcome the natural buoyancy forces that segregate gas and water from oil. czcams.com/video/xjRBznQUZMg/video.html
