Great explanation, I bought the 2 gallons roundup sprayer and 1 gallon of Sodium Hypochlorite. Do you know how much sodium Hypochlorite should I put with the 2 gallons of water to do jus half of my 1,500 square feet house roof?

What hand seamers do you recommend and where can I order them from? The 2 that I have are scratching the panel. Also, any tips on how to avoid scratching with hand seamers?

I prefer (and recommend) to leave 3ft of ladder or about 3 rungs of the ladder above the roof line to center your point of gravity and step off from.

Be very carful stepping over the extended ladder if you have heavy clothes on - a jacket or loose sweatshirt can get hung-up on the top rails. With your weight moving forward you can turn the ladder into a pole volt. Been there done that - survived.

WTH! That roof is hideous! My roof is a 3 tab Owens Corning which is 30 years old. It lived through multiple hurricanes and a rare tornado here in NY and it looks amazing. It has lost it's vibrance due to some granular loss (no black showing) but that's it. My neighbors had a GAF architectural shingle installed a couple yeas ago and that thing is hideous too. Looks like the shingles lost granular and its full of black mold! lol....still shopping around for contractors and a shingle.....most likely going to avoid GAF at a cost. Note on why mine may have last as long. I installed a gable fan in the existing vents. I really believe the soffit/gable vent system with fan is superior over the popular ridge vent/soffit they do now.

Pick literally any other color but that red. The definition on the shingles does not translate well on camera.

I ran across a plan using a "cornice", no mention of the usual fascia details (material, size) that I would normally use to determine what size of subfascia to use. (eg, 8" aluminum fascia gets 2x8 wood subfascia, where 8" smartboard gets size under, 2x6) So whats the diff? I've never seen a cornice on a plan before, does it still require subfascia?

plastic degrades in hot Sun ‘n disintegrates .. insects bats leaf debris … driving windy rain causes leaks .. ridge vent products need improvement
