If they want to keep Snow White true to the themes of the original, but still make her a PoC, do you have any idea how interesting a story of Chinese princess with skin as white as jade and lips as red as peonies or peach blossoms could be? There would even be similar cultural overlap and impact as to the themes of humility and nobility towards those with physical disabilities or outcasts in society.

Maleficent narrated thr story as a women's motherly heart thus it was actually liked by audience but snow white is going to woke path.

I'm Mexican, and have sisters that are paler than most white people I know. So it is possible. They just picked the wrong actress.

Disney movies are a mix-bag to say it mildly, some of them are the classics with good lessons you can take away with, some aren't great in the execution but still contains some good lessons, and there are those which just wanted to take a quick cash-in like the Live Action Mulan (in which you can take away nothing in the end of the movie, as the movie basically altered everything from the animated movie & the poem it was inspired by) It's a roulette every time Disney (or Pixar and Marvel) release a new show or movie, it's either a great product, or a terrible one... Tho tbh, movies were the cherry on top of everything they own as they primary cash in with the IPs they had, that's why some of the movies they just don't really care about the perceptions unless MAJOR MASSIVE backlash happens

What I like about maleficent is that when aurora was cursed maleficent is the one who kissed her and broke her curse not some prince charming who just came out of nowhere and is forced to become the love interest of the heroin, no it doesn't work like that as What Elsa from frozen is trying to point out. The curse broke because maleficent grew attachment and love to aurora that's what freed her from the curse, you don't need a prince charming guy's kiss and call it true love.

In this movie, snow white will save the prince and kiss the witch.

MALELIFENT - there is some changes & additional parts in order to make the storyline become more interesting & becoming something different (in a positive way) SNOW WHITE - straight up re-write everything from top to bottom so it is going to be 'something new' or 'something different' just for the sake of 'things has change'

What I would be so happy to see is Princess Elena portrayed in a movie format, like Zeglar would be great as Elena in a live action film and Elena deserves a feature film she’s a great character and is Latina Disney ZEGLAR AS ELENA NOT AS SNOW WHITE!!!!!!

If they just changed the story of snow white do it something like, a modern day girl who loves to read fairy tale and one day got hit by a truck and reincarnated in the world of the one she loves the most to read(snow white) but as the queen herself. the story is she will try to change the fate of the evil queen and Love snow white like her own child. The main antagonist is the other kingdom and the Prince.

I always forget that maleficent is a remake of sleeping beauty. The movie just stands well on its own two feet.
