They were all around the woods in Watford (where I lived) ..as you say often the German bombers could not see their targets because of 'blackout' ..so they just dumped them as taking the payload home was way too risky ! ..awesome !!

I’m getting into using a handful of those supermarket ‘soy chip’ things (onion flavoured, deep fried soy paste extruded through a star shaped nozzle …..basically) as a way to extend various instant noodle brands into half-decent meals. -raw peanuts & cashew nuts work pretty well as noodle-bulkers too😛😜👍
That sounds like some sort of space food. Didn't have time to do much this weekend as was out on a big beer night with an old friend on Friday , had a big overhang still on Sunday so thought I'd go for a head clearer. It was lashing down walking up the ring, was trying out an eBay coat gone the waxed long coat option , was pretty good only feet soaked , good job wasn't staying out overnight. 😁😂👍
@@willstonvelo8100 🚀🛸, nah, the hippie whole food stores have been selling ‘soy chips’ since the 80’s. You’ll find them in most of the high street supermarkets these days. I had to get out my DD XL tarp the other day 🧐🤨🤯🙁 the waterproofing had basically turned into gum in several spots😖. I’ve never used any bug sprays or dubious stuff around it. I can only assume it’s because I roll it so tight and it gets exposed to some sustained, high temperatures in Australia 🤔. I’ll get a spray can of that silicone waterproofing spray for tents and give it a good going over……..when it stops being sticky😖🏕️👍❗️ Yeah, you need a coat to be at least 3/4 length when the weather’s as bad as that, otherwise the rain wets from the top of your legs downwards.

When you go back to the woods, have a looks for autumnal/ winter silver birches, once you’ve figured the branch patterns, there’s not a lot more than grey trunks with the occasional horizontal dark grey stripe……it makes painting a winter birch forest pretty easy 😊👍
