I've been a model builder for many, many years, but a couple years back I shifted my attention to modifying diecast cars and trucks.. well, mostly. I still enjoy a traditional styrene build from time to time. But diecast, and specifically 1/64, became my focus mainly due to their price point, availability and size. There's just something real cool about a convincingly realistic scene that can fit in your hand.
There are tons of super talented modelers here on CZcams. Hopefully, you'll find some unique and useful techniques in my videos. Please like and subscribe, and feel free to ask any questions you may have. Thanks for stopping by!

Weathered, Overgrown & Vandalized. Discarded Pink Couch BONUS!
I had to try my hand at some scale vandalism.. not the impressive and artistic graffiti that you see here and there, but the common, ugly stuff.

I realized my collection needed at least one car that has been riddled with bullet holes. So, here it is. Another fun #m2machines custom.

Hi all. Hope you get a kick out of this build. I had been thinking of a build featuring lit headlights under water... You know, to capture that murky glow. Anyway, this is what I came up with. I certainly learned a lot building this one and I got to give credit where its due. @NightShiftScaleModels has some great info on epoxy resin water techniques and effects.. So if you're not familiar with ...

This was a quick, one day build. I really enjoyed this one. I learned some new tricks for my snow effects. I started with ModPodge, water and toilet paper… which worked pretty well, but I did have some trouble with adhesion. Later in the build I switched to acrylic gel medium blended with toilet paper, which worked much better. The acrylic medium was a little stickier and stayed put better. Liv...

Homage to the first sci-fi cartoon I watched when I was young. My dad was Navy and we lived in Japan in the mid 70's and I'd watch the show on TV. I couldn't understand the language but I sure loved the imagery. I still do! So this model gave me an opportunity to really dig into some heavy weathering! :D
I BLEW UP the Bandai Razor Crest model!

After seeing so many beautifully modeled explosions and fiery effects in dioramas here on CZcams, I was motivated into making one. I've built that little Bandai kit in the past and and thought it'd make a great subject for an explosion effect diorama. I opted to use resin, rather than the popular cotton/fiber technique though. I felt as though the plastic surface of resin would fun to paint. I ...

Welcome back! This is my second shadowbox/barnfind build. Lots of fun at this scale. The motorcycle is an inexpensive toy from Walmart. About 6 or 8 bucks I think. The materials are common things like card-stock and craft sticks, acrylic paint etc. I think I have less than $30 in this build. Hope you enjoy the video. What's the dimensions of the base on this diorama please as I sometimes get the base size wrong and have to re do them
@@johnsampler520 Approximately 4” square. I based the size on what “felt” right. Does that answer your question? Thanks!😊
@@VicsModShop yes sure does thanks 👍
Is Nice job🎉🎉🎉
Thank you! It was a fun one!!
Just beautiful!!! What is the name of that press you use to hold the pieces? It looks very useful!
That’s a Panavise. They make several different versions and accessories. A little pricey but they’ll probably last a lifetime. No regrets getting mine. Thanks so much!
hello sir your work is really amazing🔥 I want to ask what brand of acrylic paint do you use?
On this model I was using Vallejo paints for airbrushing, oils paint for weathering, and inexpensive craft paint for the base and terrain. Hope that helps! Thanks for watching!😊
Dude omg your crazy This Looks BETTER than Real life! WOW like everyone OMG WITH police light too I just saw WOW GOOD 👍 JOB! ❤
😁😁Yeah it was challenging but lots of fun to build! Thank you!
This guy should get more likes than 189
That’d be nice! 😆 Thanks!
so cool to watch the house age.
Weathering is such a fun process 😊😊
Are you working on something new?
I’m away from the hobby room for awhile.. got my other job to deal with. Hopefully I’ll be back modeling soon! Thanks!
EXCELLENT!
Glad you like it! Thank you!
Absolutely wonderfull piece of Desk Art , love the simplicity of it,👍
Thank you! Glad you enjoyed it!
Like I say to my son, "Not bad for a lefty!" Seriously, this is fantastic. Nice job on the upholstry using paper towel. Very inspiring. Where will you display this diorama?
Hehe! I really need to build a proper display shelf for these. This one is currently in a drawer. Thanks!!
Very nice work and convincing weathering and aging. The small scale really blows me away. 👍 😊
Thank you! It’s very meditative to work on.
Do a Toyota helix that drove in mud
Yeah I need to do some stuck in the mud scene one of these days!👍😁
Vic, what did you use to make the driver side rear window? Thanks.
I think it was some plastic from packaging.. Some toys have the clear sheet in a display box. I’m always hanging on to little bits of trash that come in handy.
Fine art! Where you can cars awhile back?
Thanks! What’s the question?
Nice
Thanks!😊
Just saw one of your shorts, why havnt you made full vids pn all those cars!?!? Tye abandoned ones??? That 59 caddy was sooo cool!!!
Because many of the cars I built before I had a CZcams channel. 😄 thanks!

you're right. shame when they end up in yards.
It’s always a little sad to see.
Espectacular!!!

Victorsmodshop rules the world of dioramas!
There so many awesome builders here on CZcams! Thank you! 😁😁
Is there a good resource you can recommend that shows the conversions for 1:64 scale? In other words, how did you determine the length and height of the building, the size of the pieces of siding, roof squares, etc.? Thanks.
Most of it was just eyeballing as accurately as possible using the vehicle as the visual key. I'm sure it's a bit out of scale. But that's a big plus with dilapidated and abandoned subjects.. they can be a little wonky and it still works. There are some scale model calculators online, but I'm not much for math, so I usually wing it. Thanks!!
that tarp is incredible
Thanks!! 😊

I think its mine too. For now.😊😊
So real. 😊

i love how amazing these dystopian style dioramas are. they have a really pleasing feel. however i really can’t get over how small that sofa is 😂
Thank you! That couch was a little on fiddly side.. but rendering dilapidated stuff allows for a few mistakes!😆😊
what an artist.. fantastic my friend..greetings from the UK
😁 Glad you enjoyed it! Thanks and cheers!☮️
What did you use to glue the lights in? Also to make the headlight housings?
UV resin
Yeah.. uv resin and the housing were simply ground out with a dremel. Thanks!

Great build as always. Full watch and share. I learn something new every time, watching your diorama. Just great . Mike .
Much appreciated Mike! ☮️
Yet another great little dio , what did you use for the vines they're just the right scale. Well done on a great channel
Thank you! Sure, the vines are fibers from a used dryer sheet, wetted with UV resin, then dragged through some store bought turf/flock and applied to the model. Once in place, I cured the resin with UV light. Hope that makes sense. I shot a video clip of the process but apparently I failed to hit the “record” button on the camera. 🤦♂️ 😆 I appreciate the comment! ☮️
Another awesome design 😍😍
Thank you! 😊
Olá meu eu sou do brasil e acompanho seu trabalho você tá de parabéns viu gostaria de saber qual Scala você usa pra fazer os dioramas
Most of my cars are 1/64.. Diecast, like hotwheels.. the boxcar is HO.. which is 1/87. Thanks for the follow! ☮️
Great idea. Nice job!
Thank you! ☮️😊
Love it. I do have a problem though. I can't stop thinking about that couch! :P Stunning, relaxing and packed with content as always. Ta muchly Vic. Love n peace.
Haha! The truth is… I had a pink leather couch some years ago. 😂 I got it used and it had this awesome 70s swanky vibe to it. I gotta admit, I really was sad when it was time to see it go.. the only pink furniture I’ve ever owned. Thanks so much for the support! ✌️ ☮️
Marx guy here, ?

lovely stuff! Your style reminds me of early N Scale Dystopia, it's a massive plus to see it in 1:64 scale..
Thank you! Yep.. I love the small scale stuff!
@@VicsModShop hoping to see some bigger dios in 1:64 :) and of course more subscribers to feed the algorythm
Excellent scene! Would love to see more model railroad dioramas - how about an old loco next? Either steam or diesel.
Yeah? I might be able to get my hands on some more train stuff.. the cars are easier to come by.. but I do love the old train themes scenes.
You can often find older locos in HO scale that run poorly and are not worth fixing for just a few bucks. An old diesel with the hood doors off with a rusty engine showing would be cool. Plan to do that on my model railroad as I have an N scale diesel that runs terrible.
@@pacificcoastminiatures I recently met a guy who has gobs of HO, and some N stuff… in various states of functionality ..so. Yeah.. very cool subject matter. Not sure why, but the abandoned scenes just appeal to me so much. I’m sure I’ll make a locomotive one of these days soon.
These abandoned scenes all have a story behind them - I thinks that’s what makes them so interesting. Like that pink couch for instance.
Really cool. 👍
Thanks! 👍
This was fun to watch. It blows me away how you can visualize everything and all the little details. Great job!
Glad you enjoyed it! 😊😊
